Quiet around here, going into the annual game in JAX, this board and others are usually lit up with chatter. Here UGA has lost one game and the fan faithful are beginning to grow up. Just my opinion. Can remember times when going into JAX with one loss, everyone would be ready for a beat down of the dreaded gators. Smoke and mirrors does not seem to work as well as it did once upon a time. "Party Line" has just about ran its course.

Looking around and found an interesting post on one of the Auburn blogs. Thought had gone through my head, but dared not really think that Smart would entertain such an idea, especially with Saban in Tuscaloosa. Of course Auburn has had a UGA grad as head coach and VD played football at Auburn and hung around Athens for many years. One just never knows.

Playing the what if game while the board is a bit quieter . . . . what if the post I picked up below came true . . . . Of course money is never an issue on the Plains, ask Cam and his Dad. Poster was referring to Gene Chizik and his staff.

One thing for all of us to remember, there is a "hot property" in Tuscaloosa and money has a way of changing coaches minds. :)

As bad as I hate to fire a coach. It is the best to cut ties with him and his staff. He is too soft and isn't capable of putting together a staff to beat Saban. We need someone who will make his staff accountable.....Like Kirby Smart......hummmmmmmm?

Buc, my friend/source told me today that AU may go get Petrino.

Within the realm of possibility wlayton. I seem to remember a flight that Petrino made when he was coaching at Louisville(?). Think that the flight ended up in Alabama. Petrino lands in Alabama this time, makes a short ride to the Plains and the deal is made, more bad news for UGA. Like Petrino or not, he makes the college teams that he coaches better.

Actually wlayton, would love to see Petrino coaching Auburn, Smart coaching Georgia (difference maker), Muschamp coaching Florida, Saban coaching Alabama, Spurrier coaching South Carolina, keeps the SEC incredibly strong. Mullen at Miss State ain't gator bait. Keep the conference strong, the slackers need to leave. Just a thought . . . . :)

Edit: Florida opens as a 3.5 pt favorite.

Yes, that would make an excellent SEC "ring of coaches".

Heard the line started at the 3 1/2 and my paper said 6 this morning (but our paper could be wrong).

wlayton, not quite sure how to interpret the .5. This is when we need thriller. .5 in JAX scares me because you mention the 6.

What I think I see is a positive + 8 or 9 favoring Florida.

Sure hope that we are in a four man front, and make Jeff Driskel throw the ball. If he runs, and should not say this but . . . . I have no faith in one safety in particular. My wife said to me again, has said it more than once . . . . why is a particular safety always the last player in on a tackle. My wife by the way UNDERSTANDS football, never watch a game without my bride.

wlayton, will play closer attention to Grantham this particular game than I have since he has been in Athens.

Also want to mention this . . . . Jarvis Jones is hurt. If he is not close to 100%, I hope that he does not play. Jarvis Jones to me is what college football should be all about. Not sure many of these young players understand that. I do however believe that Mitchell has that fire in the belly.

Considering all of the things that I have said on this board recently, it is hard for me to accept the damn gaytors beating us again. Muschamp is a short timer in Gainesville, let us see how 11 or so years compares to the Sophomore SEC Football Coach that disowned UGA. My patience is running thin, I admit that and I hate the damn gaytors and have to say, many of them are my friends. Not this Saturday, they are not my friends and I will not break bread with them.

Sorry, got carried away.

Go Dawgs . . . . Mark Richt, Coach'em up sits squarely in your lap. You recruited these young Dawgs, and Coaches . . . . no excuses, that is a thing of the past. If we come away from JAX with anything that is close to what happened to us in Columbia, South Carolina, I hope that you resign. If not, this Dawg will call you a "money hungry", "Party Line Spewer" talking is over. Wipe that damn smile off of your face and get involved Mark Richt. You are beginning to remind me of "another" misfire from VD. He had several of those. Stop Buc.
