fire_dawg, have to agree with your thoughts on the best players on the field. Todd Grantham, our short term defensive coordinator and Will Friend our even shorter time in grade offensive line coach will be on display for all to see. This particular game (Missouri) is going to tell us a lot about our coaches. Hear comments about players playing well, same applies to our coaches coaching well.
This game will begin as a "chess match" but at some point one side puts the other into checkmate. Looking at the pieces on the field, hard to believe we will be out coached or played. Nothing can change a funny bounce.
Saw one report today that showed Franklin standing in the pocket throwing the ball into the endzone for a touchdown. Media guy said that Franklin prefers to stay in the pocket and throw. At some point in this game of "chess" Franklin will not be allowed to do that, if all we have been lead to believe about our defensive prowess is factual.
AM needs to use "all of his pieces" if we are to return to Athens with smiles on our faces.
This game is building fascination, not only in Athens and Columbia, lots of interest coming from TV hype across the country. Good time for our football team to show some "Alabama vs. Michigan" like qualities, who knows the talking heads might move us up a notch in the rankings. Up to us.
Go Dawgs . . . .
