It is now our time and our turn Buc.

The time is now not next year. We have all the pieces in place to make this a big year. If not changes have to be made to the coaching staff.

This is what Shawn williams said about Gurley.:) :)

Special,” senior safety Shawn Williams said. “When I’m standing on the sideline and watching, all I can say is, ‘Wow!’ I don’t want to say too much, but when I saw that [number] 3 running down through there today, I was like, ‘that’s going to be a Trent Richardson right there.’ That’s what I can say. Big and fast, that’s all I can see

Read what Richt said about RB and running against the No.1 defense.

Bozo is in NO way, shape or form a big time OC. He is a decent quarterback coach and a mediocre OC who has gotten by so many years on his coach's loyalty and the fact that his smoke and mirror offensive stats fool some people by beating up on the weaklings he plays and turining in average stats against the good and top tier teams.
If the O has a great year, one of two things will have had to have happened--either the talent level finally overcame Bozo's ineptitude, or somebody higher up the food chain is calling the plays.

sadlerdawg, keep looking around on the internet, wondering if I will see a flicker of hope. Apparently at this point we have been pidgeon holed. Seems most of the media folks see some things that those of us that support UGA don't.

Appears that many think that South Carolina is a better team than the Red and Black. I look at the rosters, and somehow can't come to the conclusion that South Carolina has more talent than we have in Athens. Of course that comes back to whether or not the star rating system means all that. Frankly, if I am honest with myself, and I think I am . . . . by the media ranking systems, UGA has the edge when guaging a team with the star system.

When we go to Columbia East, I sincerely hope that we have an undefeated record. That and an undefeated South Carolina would pretty much do away with all the talk about easy and difficult schedules. That would be two undefeated teams that in recent years have come to really dislike each other.

South Carolina won last season between the Hedges. Spurrier said that should not have happened. How do I feel about the outcome . . . . South Carolina won, went back to Columbia with their second straight win. Do I think that they had better players, no.

Might be games like this are the reason for Mark Richt to have a personality change. One thing we cannot do . . . or should not do. Blame the players for all of the mistakes made. If the mistakes are that bad and occur too often, then something is missing somehow. Might be that we don't understand how to prepare for teams that are not walkovers. Just saying, looking at those we beat and those that win against us, for whatever reason. A win is a win.

Spurrier takes shots at a lot of different teams, he however loves taking shots at UGA and never misses a chance to do so. Comes a time when we have to look at different coaching styles, and if that makes a difference, then what is the logical next step . . . . If South Carolina/Spurrier can beat us between the Hedges, what prevents us UGA/Richt from winning in Columbia?

UGA again is loaded with talented football players. Not average players, we have a satchel full of D1 football players. Might be that our defensive side of the ball is getting too much attention at this early stage of the 2012 season. I have gone back and read many of the posts on this board and almost to a member, most seem to think that we are as good as advertised defensively. I am probably the loudest one when discussions about Todd Grantham and the defense are mentioned.

Not really looking past Missouri, just have this thing that has bothered me for a long time. Like a spur under the saddle, that spur is Spurrier. Beating South Carolina on their home field would be the single largest win for me this season. Three losses in a row to Spurrier . . . I would probably get booted off of this board, it would ruin my season . . . . even if we won every other game. I have read every comment that has been posted on this board from the time I became a member. Some more than one time. Most here want the Florida wins more, or it seems that way. Three South Carolina wins against us would change the Eastern Division in a way that would be hard to recover from. It would in my opinion have serious consequences in the recruiting wars.

A large portion of our football team returned this season to make a statement. Somewhere on that statement page would love to see a "W" after leaving Columbia, South Carolina. duck, you don't want this game any more than I do. You might think so, but I promise you, I have a serious distaste for Spurrier. Myself and many others have had to put up with him in the State of Florida, now we get the same crap from him in South Carolina. He has not changed his coaching style from one state to the other. What bothers me the most . . . . he is apparently out coaching us . . . . again.

Go Dawgs . . . Reasonable schedule.

Agree with everything you just posted, Buc. I can't stand the cocks or the old ball sack. Maybe our coaches are beginning to feel the same way.

Been out a little while traveling with work, but as always good read.

As far as Richt, no doubt he is a changed man. He candy coated nothing, and it was easy to see he was not very pleased with what he saw. I liked the comment about just being a pretty good team. I don't remember a time that he hasnt tried to just point out the positives after a scrimmage. There was no suger-coating. The man seems to be on a mission. How I wish this would have been his mindset all along. No telling where we might be now. CMR seems to have a little edge to him. Thanks CTG. No doubt he has caused CMR to refocus and get that edge the great ones need.

As far as Spurrier and cocks, I agree we have more talent. However, I am not sure that we have as quality of talent at some crucial positions. Last year, usc had some flat out studs. jefferies, ingram, clowney, and lattimore just to name a few. Last year, lattimore was proably the second best running back in the country before injury. Who knows this year? Clowney will be a first round pick, if not, the 1st overall pick with the recent love the NFL has for d-linemen.

Now, dont get me wrong, I wouldn't trade any of the guys we have, and we have a ton of talent in Athens. But I am not going to pretend SS is taking the field with a jv team. They have some serious talent too. That was always the thing about SS that drove me crazy. He always acted like his talent was not up to everybody elses. Why? Makes him look like a better coach. Has he beat some teams with better talent, sure, but the way he always sold it, you would think he was taking Ben Davis middle school and beating teams.

No excuses this year Dawgs. We are better, better overall team talent, and we owe them one. Don't believe CMR is into making excuses anymore. Keep grinding and coaching.

GO DAWGS
