I would not be surprised if Corey Moore has a break out season like JJ did last year.

HE'S GOOD reminds me of Rambo before he got hurt in the Auburn game. He's not scared to light someone up.

Tree and Rambo I do believe will be suspended for the 1rst game. But I don't see them being suspended for Mizzu....Can't wait for that game packed by bags last week...I'm ready to get on my flight already.

stanger glad to see you back, been a while. Looks as if the defensive backs are going to step up and play like some we have had in the past. AllDawgs5 is on board with Corey Moore, as are others on this board. Any news on Carlton Thomas, think about him on occasion.

Carlton is in Athens. He isn't going anywhere til he has the Diploma in his hands. Which will be after this Fall semester.

He will play next year. There is some pretty good schools looking at him and still trying to recruit him til to this day but he's not making any disicions til after the Fall semester.

Kid has turned it around after getting in trouble this last time. He's got him a job paying for his own place and school for one more semester.

On the other hand there is still one or two that need to go. One I wish they wouldn't of let back on the team.

IC I wish him the best but sometime you just can't take the thug out of them. Blame it on what you want but he stayed in more trouble then most know about. Orson tried with him but after they saw Orson had no effect on him after Orson left they decided there was no hope.

Reading AllDawgs5 thread again and the way he feels about suspensions, that was one of the points he mentioned, has me thinking about hands on deck also. PP's me off too. Going back to some earlier comments about boys being boys, takes me to this.

Having a hard time getting a grip on not having a full scholarship load or close to a full load on our football team. Have read many articles and posts in different places on the internet and many say we can only play 11 at a time. True.

My problem with being somewhere around 9 short at this point, takes away from moving up that next step and playing college football. Not everyone comes to Athens and starts as a freshman, actually few do that. There is a learning curve as we all know, and in my opinion, this sets us back a year on that learning curve. At some point in time that will catch up with us, no getting around that.

Not really coming down on anyone, just hoping that we don't lose the ground we have made up in the last couple of years because we somehow could not figure the process out. Suspensions happen to everyone, the other part of less recruits on campus has me a bit befuddled.

There are several teams that are showing improvement, and in my mind that is going to make recruiting an even tougher process for us from here on out. Would really hate to see us slip from a lofty position that apparently many folks seem to think we are at this point. Have seen us rated number five in the Country and many have us in the top ten. If we are going to gain on the Bama's and the LSU crowd, can't have years of not finding players and issuing scholarships. Tough game this college football, that is however the reason coaches and administrators make the big bucks. Just a thought that was provoked going back and reading a thread.

Go Dawgs!

Buc, you are right. I've taken a whole new view of over-signing. Maybe it's "cheating", or maybe it's just good old fashioned "thinking ahead". I used to think it was the former - I now think it's the latter. I don't think we "under-recruited". I think we "over-suspended" and "over-expelled", and that resulted in this shortfall. But I think we HAD to suspend and expel. Therefore, we DID under-recruit - by not OVER-recruiting.

So I have a whole new attitude about the entire process. These punk hoodlums kids have no sense of loyalty to a school - we all KNOW that. They have no sense of "HONOR" - we know that too. Handling them as if they do has proven to result in excessive risk to the overall team. To me, the TEAM has to come first - that's what we hire coaches for - putting the TEAM first.

There was a time when HONOR and LOYALTY meant something. There was a time when GOOD young men wanted to play for a school, not based on how much could be offered to them, but based on the regionalism, based on the color of the uniform and the glory of being a part of that schools cherished heritage and proud history.

Times have changed. Oh my, how they have changed. Today the punk hoodlums fine young men we recruit can only think of how much PERSONAL glory they can find. They want their hos, their guns and their weed. They want to buy and sell illegal contraband. If it's good, decent and wholesome, it's nerdy and un-cool. If it's nasty and illegal and dark and shady and wicked, it's cooooooool.

I say use these hoodlum punks up and discard them. Over-sign them, suspend them, expel them and bring in more. But as Cornelius Washington said, they don't care about us - they despise us and everything we stand for - I'm all in favor of returning that favor.

Sorry - got a little carried away - but not really.

EDIT - BTW, 31 days to kick off!
