When I read the article today that Andy Dodd was going to Tuscaloosa, started to make mention on our board. Glad to see that others are as upset with the details of our coaching staff not putting forth the effort to build a part of our team that has been overlooked for far too long.
Mark Richt seems to have the knack for recruiting running backs and quarterbacks. Falls dreadfully short when it comes to building that wall that is needed to protect and open holes.
One thing that bothered me was whether or not Friend was aware or if he is in lock step.
University of Georgia, especially the offensive side of the ball will never reach the heights of Alabama or LSU with our attitude of overlooking talent like Andy Dodd. Anyone remember the outcome of a certain offensive lineman from Richt's area of South Florida that ended up signing with Auburn.
Going to be a sad day in Athens when Coach Grantham and his forces leave UGA and maybe land in Tennessee. Richt versus Grantham, no contest. What is the difference between the two coaches in my opinion? Coach Grantham recruits and teaches, the results speak for themselves. Need I say more about the missing link?
From where I sit, the extension and raise were not the right approach at this time.
Saban proves again why he is paid handsomely. He works for it, and those that surround him understand the Saban way. Also remember this, Todd Grantham worked for Saban once upon a time, and lo and behold . . . . which side of the UGA Football Team has progressed the most. Just stating facts, or what appear to be facts to me.
Edit: Maybe this is the reason that Searels left UGA. Beginning to look like Richt thinks the flash and dash means more than recruiting folks that help the running backs and quarterbacks win Heisman Trophies. The game starts with line play.

We did not recruit Chance Warmack, backbone of the Alabama offensive line.
Said it once, say it time and again, Mark Richt is a lazy recruiter.
I don't see how anyone can defend Richt and bemoan our offensive line issues.
I'm a supporter of CMR not a defender of him.....actually have been on the fence.
Not bemoaning our OL, they may turn out great...... just making a point that I'm "reserved" about our season because of it.
sure had me fooled......
There's a fine line between supporting someone and defending them. If my son does something wrong and goes to jail, I'll always support him but would never defend his actions.
I've said many times that I love CMR.... WANT him to succeed and represent our school (also believe most on here do as well).....but I have also been on board about him not hiring an new, innovative, OC and have been critical of him in the past. Also am on the fence about UGA's future with him at the helm.
Do I want him to be our coach?.....yes
Am I willing to ignore mediocrity......no

Btw, there have been many times I've been unhappy with CMR the last 3 years (not just the end of last season as you say).......but I can still give the man support in hoping he can turn things around. Said before.....if he can't then he should be gone.
Wait.......WHY am I always defending myself??....believe I can express my opinions.

wlayton wrote: The so called "mass evacuation" had nothing to do with the 2 losses....more to do with some people getting "tired" of hearing about it. Will admit that it probably got run into the ground.
Btw, for your information, I believe I only said once that I was "wasting my time" to someone because the argument, uh, discussion we were having wasn't going anywhere nor was it going to be solved.
ONCE......don't make it look like I said that multiple times, not true. Believe you've had arguments, uh, discussions before that went nowhere as well.
Oh, if I was "dubbed" the Mayor, was that MY fault?? We were having fun and probably a little superstitious too....loosen up a little.
