Georgia Football, Speed and Erk . . . .

Agree with most of all the posts above........but....

1. team speed outstanding as Buc points out
2. a given.......the D is going to be outstanding, the strength of the team as long as the CB position holds up
3. offense......imo, a ton of "skilled" talent but school is still out. The offense will go only as the OL goes. Not convinced our OL will be any better than last year....actually feel it will be worse the first few games. Second half of the year feel they will be much better. AM will have his hands full....just hope he makes good decisions when pressured.....and he WILL be pressured.

I'll go on record as saying the OL will be THE key to our season.

I agree with ya to some extent Duck. But/ maybe if CMR and Bozo ARE adding a few wrinkles to the O, they would make it public? That takes away the element of surprise. And the SEC is a battle every Saturday. And whats the one thing you want going into battle? SURPRISE! Also, I think Papa T is gonna have these guys more inshape and everyone buying into his workout/diet program. But as always......time will tell.

fire_dawg, coming out of Spring practice, this team is going to know a lot more about each other. Not different than the business that you are in. New folks come on board, does not take long to cull those that are not ready. Mistakes don't work in the fire fighting business and they don't work in SEC football.

If nothing changes with our offense after all of the signals that have been sent in the direction of the fans, it will be disappointing. Mark Richt put out a loud and clear message that he wanted and needed running backs. Mission accomplished.

This is Mark Richt's team, if there are any flaws it is up to him to correct them. Same applies to the offensive line. Richt has said recently that he is on board with the offensive line that will be lining up this season. Don't really expect him to say anything less, and quite frankly hope that he is right. Maybe the offensive line will be the "surprise" of 2012. Would like nothing more than to pat Richt and Friend on the back and say job well done. I will only do that when we face competition, and I know that we have more than one on our schedule that will get Mark Richt's attention. This talk about going undefeated, caution is advised, there are some lurking on our schedule.

Go Dawgs, coach'em up . . . . :)

Brothers, looking at several different rating services and the players available for 2013. From what I am reading and film I am watching, 2013 is loaded with football talent. Maybe as much as I have seen in several years. Speaking for myself.

There is going to be a point in time when many of these young folks are going to be real disappointed. More and more schools are expanding services, improving facilities and I believe that is going to change some of this waiting until the last day or so to sign on. Reason I say that is because the talent base gets closer and closer when looking at ability. Some of these young players are going to realize that when offered, look close, that scholarship could go to someone else in a matter of minutes, hours or days later, not months. That is going to happen.

There are going to be young men getting left out, or attending schools that they did not originally want to attend. That is because the competition between backs and linemen and all football players are separated by very little when comparing skills. What is the difference between a 4.3 forty and a 4.5 . . . . point two. What about heart, strength and due diligence?

College football will benefit from this. Much time is spent by coaches on the road talking with prospects, time that could be used back in the "lab" improving football play with folks that are already under the tent.

Academics should improve greatly for these young men also. Many say that they want to do this or that, then it finally comes down to winning football games, rather than making the grades for the inevitable. Not everyone, not even close to everyone is going to the NFL. I could point to several players that thought they had this game of college and NFL football figured out. I would also have to ask permission to enter into the gates that lock behind us to talk with some of these same folks now.

One example that these young folks should be looking at is Trinton Sturdivant. If TS had not gotten injured multiple times in his pursuit of the NFL, he would right now be a millionaire many times over. He played a position that the NFL covets, and pays handsomely.

Trinton was one of the most impressive freshmen football players that I have ever seen on the UGA campus. Reading some of the things that have been written about TS in the last couple of days, one would think that he somehow got cheated. He did not, and he does not act in that vein. He now has to do what so many of us do and have done for many years. Trinton has to join the work force where the big bucks are sometimes hard to come by. I wish him well, he is what I would classify as a "True Dawg". Never a lack of willingness from Trinton. God bless you young man.

When I started this post, Trinton Sturdivant was the primary reason. He gave everything. I would love to see UGA step up and reward this young man somehow, especially since the University of Georgia provided this wonderful young man with an education. Would speak volumes to this Dawg Booster and Supporter.

Go Dawgs . . . Remember those that gave it all. TS did. . . . young players look closely at Trinton Sturdivant, there is a message there. . . . :)

You're right BUC, Trinton gave it everything he had just to be a part of the UGA team. If everyone gave out the effort that he did there is no way success would not be ours. I only wish that I had that kind of moxie. Keep it up Trinton wherever you go.

Buc what about Richard Samuel the coaches keep moving this guy around and he will never see the NFL he was a 5 star linebacker out of high school not a running back now there wanting to put him at fullback this guy loves Georgia if the rest of the players would do the same we would be a Hell of a team. One more thing tell Richt and Bozo the toss sweep will work with K.M. and Gurley.:silly:
