Dawg With Style, Richard Samuel has been a big conversation piece on this board for a long time.
Truthfully, I think that we got caught with our pants down from the time he committed to play for UGA. Several players were moved around and never quite got a feel for what position they were going to lineup at on Saturday. I am hoping that a lot of that has disappeared from UGA football.
Repititions mean so much when anyone in any sport is trying to improve. That is a reason folks go to the driving range and hit buckets of balls. Basketball players go to the free throw line during and after practice and shoot to improve. Baseball players spend a lot of time in the batting cage. Swimmers spend hours improving on the freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke.
Richard never knew exactly where he was going to play, that in my opinion gets dumped on coaching. He was not the only one. I think and hope that there has been a different process incorporated in Athens. Build that depth and let these young men get needed repititions.
