Anyone going to the Outback Bowl?

No score prediction from me, but I will predict that we see a UGA team come out and try to physically dominate MSU...not just on the field, but in the gameplan as well. Not sure why I have such blind optimism for the kid, but I expect big things from Boo Malcome come January 2nd...he's getting first team reps for a reason, and it's not just a motivation ploy for Crowell.

Yes we were underprepared and a lot younger when we played Boise at the beginning of the year, but the biggest mistake we made was trying to play their style of offense. Granted, part of that was compensation for a young o-line that wasn't prepared for the speed of the defensive front of Boise. We don't have that problem anymore...our o-line dominated LSU's defensive front in the first half of the SEC Championship. MSU has some beef up front, but I promise you they ain't the LSU front. I'm predicting we don't make the same mistake twice. Assuming Samuel is a go and Boo continues to build off his 4th quarter performance in the Championship game, I think we see us take the tried and true method of the SEC...pound them into submission in the first half...impose our will in the second.

1. Dropped passes/ints kept us from padding our lead in the first half.
2. Special teams broke down and allowed LSU to get back in the game and build momentum.
3. We fumbled the ball fairly deep in our territory, and gave LSU a short field to work with, and our defense lost their swagger, especially after Hilliard began carrying the ball down after down.
If we had been up 28 points or even just 21 at the half, it might have been a different story.

This game is gonna be close, and will be decided by turnovers or special teams play.

OoltewahDawg, good post. From where I sit, LSU is just a damn good football team. Someone, somehow is going to figure out how to make things work. Appears to me that the players really enjoy playing for Miles. That means a lot.

Guess I have to ask you what the final score might be, or, just a winning point difference. Seems the book is still around 3, 3 1/2 points.

Turnovers always come into play, outside of that, our special teams need to "hook up". Do not believe that MSU can consistently drive the ball 80 yards against the Grantham defense. Might put one good drive together early, that is when the Dawgs figure out what the game plan is.

What say you . . . . :)

Edit: Guess that turnovers and special team play is what did UGA in against LSU.

Buc, my prognostication is that UGA wins by 5. But I hope we blow them away. I hate close games involving the Dawgs because I get so tense and nervous. My wife doesn't like to be in the den when I'm watching the games because I yell and scream at the TV. (Imagine a grown man doing that! :woohoo:) She likes it a little quieter in the house than that.

MH, given Crowell's thoughts in his interview the other day, wouldn't surprise me if he has a breakout game on Jan 2. Would love to see him bust one or two.

OD...I really hope your right about Crowell...not only for the sake of this game, but as a good jumping off point for him for the 2012 season. Either way, would love to see our offense dictate the pace of this game with extended drives and power running between the tackles. If it's IC doing the running instead of Boo and/or Samuel, all the better!

I would like to see a little more from IC than lip service. It would surely be nice to see a game where the UGA backs dominate and take over the game. I love UGA football, and we need to dominate on both sides of the ball to make me real happy. GATA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The sun shines on a different Dawg every day

Thanks Buc...had a few rough weeks with the kiddo...he had to have a series of allergy tests, asthma consults, and a second set of tubes in the ears. He's back on his feet and all ready for the bowl game...running around in the football helmet you see in my picture.
