Buc, you are so right that CMR seems to understand NOW that the SEC is won at the line of scrimmage. Saban and Miles have made that point pretty clear.

Maybe in the ACC you can get by with concentrating more on the skilled positions but if you are a serious contender in the SEC you had better have the big boys up front......excuse me.....the "mean" big boys up front. :woohoo: :woohoo:

Buc, Georgia is like her master after this thanksgiving feast. We are both stuffed. It is a bluebird day here in Athens so we will get out this afternoon and do so roadwork..slowly that is.

There will be many times to recall this special season this winter but being a forward looking guy I am looking at what the SEC East will be next year and thinking good God does our future look bright.

Out of he 14 teams now in the SEC we are a solid #3 pushing # 2 real hard.
Fix our "O" depth and get us a durable back #1 will be feeling UGA's warm breath.

Let's Go Dawgs -pickup the lunch bucket and head to 10th Street time to do a blue collar job on the bugs.

wlayton, followed FSU for many years, not with the same feeling that I of course have for UGA.

FSU at one point played defense, believe it or not. Bowden and his crew (Richt) got away from one of the areas that they always did well with, the O and D lines. Andrews the defensive coordinator was a madman on the sideline and the players loved it. Sound familiar?

Time came when FSU thought they could and actually did outscore everyone they played. They slowly lapsed on the O and D lines (especially the D side) and here comes Miami and others. Cost FSU big time. I for one watching FSU football for as many years as I once did, saw some of that with Richt and company. The problem ended up being we went too far with "high profile" offensive backs and receivers. Sound familiar?

For the past few years, it's as if I am watching a replay of FSU in Athens. Bobby Bowden turned the offense over to Richt and the defense over to Andrews. Bobby Bowden was what Richt emulated eventually in Athens. Outcome was almost the same . . . ready for this . . . I truly believe two folks got Mark Richt's attention. McGarity and Grantham. In different ways, but they did get his attention. For me, this is a positive, if Mark Richt is truly ready to coach football, we all know what he was "once" capable of. Most of us want the here and now. :)

Good point that you make wlayton about Saban and Miles, just think that it was probably the two that I mentioned in the paragraph above . . . . McGarity and Grantham. In my many years of doing what ever it was that I did, learned a lot from those that either worked for me or those that were mentoring me. Wearing the big hat means nothing if the eyes are shut and the ears have plugs.

Feeling good about Athens these days. :)

I agree Buc- Mac & CTG did get CMR attention. One is his boss and the other his peer.

Once again proves.. you snooz you lose..we did.

CMR is awake and clear eyed. You are correct about feeling good about what's happen'n in Athens.

Crap about # 2 ruuning offense meeting # 2 run defense, bugs run their numbers up in the ACC- we did ours in the SEC. CTG takes his house of pain on the road.

We will be able to run, they won't. Nats meet CTG windshield. " Go Dawgs !

yankeedawg1, really want to see this game from a "moving forward" stand point. Tech can run the ball. Given. UGA's defense has stopped the run. Given. Guess as you suggest . . . . ACC vs. SEC. Strap'em up, let's go. Hoping our free safety has eyes open. This is not an original statement from me for sure . . . make them throw the football. Jarvis Jones moves past David Pollack if that happens. That is a good thing, we all know that Pollack was all that. Jarvis Jones listened to Grantham and look at him now. Grantham is a teacher, knows what it takes to send these young men to the next level. This also will aid UGA with the upcoming recruits.

Don't know of course what the outcome of the LSU/Arkansas game will be, however the Razorbacks just scored. Folks that follow the Falcons don't like Petrino, with reason, but the man has taken the Arkansas reigns and they are a different team under his guidance. This is going to be a game that could change many things in college football.

Edit: One more thingy. If the Big 10 or 12 or PacWest or any other conference had their teams 1, 2, 3, the damn media would love it. Networks are now saying a SEC 1 versus 2 would not be good. PP on the media, just come up to SEC standards. FACT. :)

SEC ain't no gimme, gotta play in this conference. :)

New Flash: Arkansas took a fumble and . . . . touchdown. . . . Highsmith 47 yards!!!
