Good Morning All,

Shortly after the USC game I learned that my son would be in town for a visit this past weekend.

He asked if we could go the KYU game. We did.

Let me share some of my observations:

To borrow AW’s words this was a very weird game!

Can’t say that we overlooked KY or just had the blah’s after the big AU win.

Or all the above?

You know I love defense and I am a big fan of CTG and this group.

This was the game watch in person.

When the score was 12-10, one play away from losing the lead or worse the game. I chewed a few fingernails!

I don’t know if it was shown on TV that when KY did take the lead a hush fell over the crowd. Stunned!

Then KY did us a huge favor and started dancing on their sideline.

I turned to my son and said big, big mistake, flashback to MSU dancing on the “G”.

CTG and his defense saw it and that was the last points KY scored!

My focus was on the “D” line, this group is special. The invite you to run on them, The “O” line can’t get any blocking angles this is a stout group that just clogs and stuffs while the LB’s push the runner back.

“O” line tries to pass block our front 7 is a bullet train rushing to “QB”!!

Jarvis is the real deal and gets better with each snap. He has a “Pollack” nose for the ball.

As a group they love to run to the ball and know what to do when they get there. The sounds of pads popping was music to my old ears.

Anyone who has not seen the new Reed Plaza it is worth the trip. It is a great improvement to Sanford.

Time for me to take another hit…. My wish for another ugly win was granted. This was super ugly for sure!

For the record I will take 3 more please starting this week.

IC did take a big hit on his ankle, word off campus the coaches wanted not to have to play him until the Tech game, we will see.

Buc, I agree IC is a china doll until he proves he can play an entire game. RB help is coming in 2012.

Do not be surprised if you see a big back out of JC ranks headed this way.

CMR will address the RB issue along with recruiting new uglies for the “O” line at the end of this season.

We beat who we had in front of us for the last 9 weeks. We won the East and improved with each game.

Yes even in the KY game there was several areas of improvement namely the kicking game.
DB’s punt inside the one yd line was shear artwork. Good to see BW back on track. We need him to have his “A” game!

Do you think the Tide would of liked to a have had a quality PK when they played LSU ?

Let us not forget that AM is still only in his second season, we have been spoiled. He will have an off game, learn from it and get better.

We found a way to win.

With all the personnel issues we had it was somewhat strange to hear CMB being trashed again. This falls under the same heading as who we beat and how we beat them.

One more time-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back wins.

Just win baby!

Wlayton when I did get back to the island after the game, Kool- Aid was good and cold-thank you. I cleaned my rose colored glasses and took a seat in the setting sun. SEC Champs -period no asterisk.

Munson knew we had won the East before leaving the island to meet St. Pete! Next time that there is sugar falling from the sky on UGA we know who to thank.

CTG has installed the bug catcher on our “D”.

Soap opera and drama at RB’s act 12. Pass the Tum’s please.

Noon kickoff-with grilling time after the game, plenty of cold Kool- Aid for all on the island come on by.

We will be better next year this is not a single flashdance, bank it!

Pause and give thanks

Have a great weekend and a safe week!

As always “Go Dawgs”

yd1....6:00 AM post??.......guess with the new time change the sun was peaking up on the island but man that's early.

As I was scrolling down I was wondering where your Munson superstitous "hunker down ONE more time" weekly back, to back, to back etc line was. See you got it in so a win is in the bank now.....some things you gotta stick to.

Also enjoyed your comment about "personel issues" and still trashing the Dawgs (understand people on Bobo even though playcalling has been better)

NOW.......since Munson enjoyed and supported the island, isn't that good enough for everyone?

I'll be looking for you on the beach with a cool kool-aid in hand for you, rose colored glasses on and a big celebration 5:00 sharp Sat.........just before the grilling gets started.

Not to worry Mayor, Had to let Georgia out to do her morning duty. Sent my post while she was doing her thing.

Sorry we could win the NC by 50 points and sadly faults would be found.

Why B&R has 31 flavors. Enjoy todays games, see you at 5!

yankeedawg looking forward to our game against Tech. Look forward to all games, this particular one will settle some things in my mind about our defense. Know that we are good, want to see how much we have improved in the second year running schemes the Grantham way.

Agree with you that some will never be satisfied with the total outcome of any game. Two ways to look at that . . . some don't like themselves, no way they will like what anyone else is doing. Those are not fans in my opinion. Those are the "Firsts" that belong to the click hunters on the AJC.

There are others, many on this board that look at UGA's football team realistically and point out areas that improvement could be made or think could be made. Positive criticism or any way one wants to put it has a place on these boards for folks that do like themselves and really care about others.

When football season is over, watch the number of folks that continue to participate on this board. They can be separated, not meaning that all are not fans, just that some get into the nuts and bolts of football and especially UGA football more than others. All of us have said this before, or most on here have, this is a special place to point and counter point. Emotions tend to run a bit higher during the season, as it should be. However there is usually a amicable outcome.

On the IC thingy. I hope that he gets well, would love to see him at his very best.

Said in another thread . . . . I see or think I see a change in Richt's (football attitude). He will always be true to his outside beliefs. Why . . . . I have my thoughts on that. He had lost his football team for several years, he was like a vessel without a rudder, after that not only was the rudder not working, the mates on board were not ON BOARD. All we have to do is check the coaching replacements and the number of arrests. Not wrong for commited UGA fans and alumni to point that out . . . . over and over again until due diligence is done.

Point I am trying to make, I am beginning to see a much different Mark Richt. When he openly says for all to hear that he wants running backs at UGA, that is not the same way Richt would have approached this problem two or three years back. I still feel McGarity's presence in this change I think I see from our head coach.

I envy you just for the fact that you are so close to the "action". Whether that is the good old boys at the breakfast hangout or so close to hallowed ground. Do get to break bread on occasion with some that are very knowledgable down this way.

One more thingy . . . For Mark Richt to say that there "might" be more surprises headed our way, that actually puts him on the spot. He has already gotten commits that cannot at this point be posted. Probably one or two or several more that will watch the game with Tech very closely. Then the "second game" in Atlanta will have a lot of "young eyes" paying close attention. That game regardless of the opponent, Bama, LSU or Arky will have a huge bearing on probably one or two commits that are on the fence.

Enough Buc. Wonderful post yankeedawg1, couple of Dawg Bones for "Georgia's" helmet, feel sure she has one.

Go Dawgs, beat Tech. . . .

Hey Buc....first of all, I hope you and your family had a great day, yesterday.

1. Believe CMR's "surprises" will be at RB
2. Regardless of the outcome in the SECCG, RB recruits are probably DROOLING over coming to Athens.....surely they can SEE the opportunity......geez, there isn't any competition for the 2 out of NC and that potential JUCO RB......say that because "school's still out" on IC's attitude and fragility (that a word?)
3. CMR fills that void and the next 2 years could be dominant and special.

wlayton, if Friend gets the offensive line two deep, this run could be serious for many quarters of football in the future. Makes sense to me when you are able to run the ball, good things happen. Running the ball effectively in the SEC is as important as playing defense in the SEC. (Almost anyway :) )

From what I hear from some that I know and those that I don't know, it appears that Mark Richt has finally caught on to the fact that the O and D lines are more important than a class full of running backs. Great offensive line and mediocre running back plus great defense, wins many games. Great running back, sub-par offensive line does not bode well.

It is apparent that we went to sleep when it came to signing offensive line prospects. That is one of the reasons in the recent past that we went to JUCO's for the quick fix. I know that we had some injuries that hurt badly, think we counted too heavily on the return of some from serious injury. Also realize that Mark Richt was not going to kick someone to the curb, admirable. This however should not allow us to be weak, lots of young folks would love to attend UGA that go to other colleges and do real well.

Know that Grantham and company really want Josh Harvey-Clemons in this recruiting class. That would be a major signing in my opinion. Also believe we are going to land a defensive lineman that many think will be crossing the Alabama/Georgia line. Have a feeling he will remain on the Georgia side of the Chattahoochee. We will see.

One more, noticed that Grantham had some nice things to say about Ramik Wilson. When Grantham says anything about a freshman, you can be sure good things are on their way. I know of Ramik, ANIMAL.
