When you win... what the coach gets.

In my opinion CMR does not deserve a contract extension this year. He didn't give back any pay last year when he flopped ? Compete for the BCS Championship next year and give him one. The man makes plenty of money and I am sure has built in bonuses. Why do people think he should get an extension? He is finally doing what he is paid for, winning games, so far nothing special, yet.

In my opinion the team is winning in spite of CMR and Bozo not because of them.

As drastic as UGA's turnaround has been, even if we go 12-2 and win the SEC championship and the Sugar Bowl, I still think Mike Bobo needs to go.

Grantham should serve as an example to CMR for what happens when you put the needs of the program first and separate your professional obligations from your personal feelings and relationships. He got rid of Willie and look what happened. If we can be great with a mediocre offensive coordinator, imagine what we could be with a great, innovative offensive coordinator.

It's a moot point because Bobo isn't going anywhere as long as Richt can keep him hidden deep within the cushions provided by Grantham's success on D masking Bobo's shortcomings.

Cannot disagree with anything you said bulldawg36869. Believe more than once that the talent has been on campus to reach higher levels. One of the reasons for the last two years I have said in many of my posts . . . coach 'em up. The face of the UGA football team changed when McGarity and Grantham arrived to bail out an ailing coaching staff. That is a fact.

I don't know if CMR even wants an extension anyway. I think the plan for quite awhile now has been to retire after this current contract is up in two years and go do mission work. Still pleanty of incentive to try to bring up the offensive side of the ball as well as the defense (which entails replacing Bobo) Wouldn't a national title in his last year be a spectacular send-off?

UGAChemDawg, while we may have differences, your post is absolutely point on. Other folks on this board have suggested that we bring in this coach or that coach, usually it comes down to two names.

This offensive side of the ball has more talent than I have seen in Athens for a long time. Maybe ever if we go from position to position. Talent has been there since Bobo and company have been there.

My fear is that Grantham knows what he has done for UGA football and why not do it on his own. I feel that we have that "special" piece that has been needed for far too long, and has an above average chance of taking flight. Grantham will not come cheap, nor should he.

I'm torn on this issue.

These teams we have beaten... especially Florida, are having down years.
