BulldogShannon, Mike Honcho, wlayton, everybody,

I too have been a Bobo detractor but I too must give credit where credit is due, he called a great game on Sat. against Auburn-Way to go Bobo! He definitely rolled out AM more often & was seriously committed to the run. Red zone play calling is where Bobo has really struggled so for me his best call of the game was the swing pass to Figgings in the flats for our 3rd TD. That play works almost 90% of the time it seems. We used to throw it to our FBs numerous times per game early in the CMR era, but not so much anymore.

Anyways, all compliments to Bobo aside, I still think a really bright & creative OC could push the Dawgs over the top. As me & my buddy were riding up to the game on Sat. morning, I commented that Bobo has been calling better games the past several week & he agreed. BUT, I then said, I don't care, his BEST play calling still isn't good enough. Perhaps I should restate that his BEST play calling might be good enough for the Dawgs to manage to win (you know, the players making plays), but his play calling alone is NOT going to win us any games.

IMO, a great play call at the right time can be the difference btw. a win & a loss in a close game btw. two evenly matched teams. I still just have no confidence that when crunch time comes, Bobo will make the right play call to help UGA achieve a victory. Be interesting to see how the offense & play calling look during the final 2, hopefully 3 weeks of the season. I sincerely hope that Bobo is starting to get better, if not, CMR needs to make him the QB Coach & bring in a new play caller. I'm rooting for Bobo to figure things out but like many of you have said in previous posts, I don't care who our coaches are, all I care about is the results!

I feel the same way about Bobo that I do the program in general.

Let's not get too excited over just doing what we should be doing. We have won the East
if we beat Kentucky, but there was no reason why we shouldn't have been the odds on favorite
to win the East in the first place.

I'm not sure Bobo has really called any great game. I think what he has done has been to
not call an overly bad game. Did anyone watch the Abuurn game and think to themselves
over and over again that our success was because of GREAT play calling? I didn't. I saw
acceptable play calling with great execution by the players. We rolled out Am a bit more...
great, but that's just a common sense thing we should have been doing all season. We
stayed committed to the run a bit more... awesome, but once again it's just common sense.
Teams that run well consistently stick with it.

Don't get me wrong.. not trying to be negative. I'm just not ready to jump on the Bobo
train because of a couple of games where he performed at an acceptable level. It's the
right direction.. absolutely. Is Bobo now some sort of offensive genius? No, he is not.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Am convinced that CMR is overlooking the play calls. At FSU, he developed a great short passing game (whether to RB's, TE's or Wr's)and he liked to roll out Ward like he's now doing with AM......starting to see his "fingerprints" on our play calls.

Also like the fact they knew AU's weakness was against the run and we pounded it in the 2nd half.

Btw......I think BAMA and LSU's play calling is VERY predictable too......hmmmm, other than Arkansas, maybe SEC offensive play calling as a whole is just that.....predictable. SEC winning football is great D and pound the ball.......BAMA's playbook is smaller than ours......just sayin'.;)

Vince Lombardi only used about 20 total plays with any regularity.

His teams just executed them perfectly. No one was ever caught off guard by their
play calling. They lined up and you knew what was coming... you just had to figure
out how to stop it if it was executed properly.
