Apparently the students are rioting. I hope they burn it to the ground and leave a blanket of ash where the school used to be. Talk about throwing someone under the bus. Paterno met every legal obligation that he had. The guy who actually witnessed the incident is still employeed.

What...the minute it was reported to him he should have informed law enforcement.....or better yet... yeah he reported it to his superiors but they did not report it so he he should have taken matters into his own hands and reported it.....no excuse by anyone who had knowledge of the incident(s) for not calling law enforcement period.

I disagree... sometimes just meeting your legal obligations isn't enough.

I think everyone involved should have been dismissed, including Paterno. I think it
was ridiculous of him to say he was going to quit, but not until the season was over.
If the transgression warranted him quitting at all, and it did in my opinion the time to quit
was immediately.

I may agree that the guy that witnessed it didn't do enough either (as in starting with
with wringing Sandusky's neck the moment it happened), but that doesn't mean what was
done to Paterno for his role was wrong.

This will end up with Sandusky going to the joint. If he is under house arrest awaiting trial, good chance they will put him on "suicide watch". My answer to that is the person or persons on suicide watch should be able to see as far as Ray Charles could. This pedophile will not make it inside, period. FACT.

Are you serious? Met every legal obligation he had? Every educator in the country, including coaches, at any level are taught to report ANY instances or even suspicion of abuse, sexual or otherwise, not just to their superiors, but to the police. Ask any teacher you know that went through a college-level education program and/or received an undergrad/grad degree in education...their curriculum probaly included a class that focused on this.

Futhermore, he knew, indirectly or not, about at least one instance and still continued to allow Sandusky to be involved with his program for more than 15 years!! Maybe he didn't have a "legal" obligation to fire him (innocent until proven guilty) but to just report it to the AD and School Pres and then sweep it under the rug for 15 years...c'mon, you really think he did everything he was "obligated" to do??? I'm sorry, but if I was Joe Paterno I'b probably still be in jail for what I did to Sandusky 15 years ago...
