UGA V UA 2011

Exactly, wlayton. Not only that, but the line hasn't moved. I'm a RABID UGA fan, and that spread even has me pondering what I could do with that Christmas money. Team loyalty is team loyalty, but to think that Auburn can't even come within 13 points?! Somebody somewhere KNOWS something. Sucker bet . . . or SURE THING?!

(Rumor around the office is that Boise State is sending their offensive unit down here for the game to "help out a little" . . . seevee et al are our biggest fans this weekend, huh?)

Would love a rematch with Boise in a BCS game.

They do know what they are doing wlayton, but what they are doing is getting the money
even on both sides. That's their primary concern, and they have many indicators outside
of studying X's and O's that lead them to their decision. Mainly pre-line betting.

Many people here are looking at a 12-13 point spread and saying based on pure football
sense, that it seems a little high. It probably is a little high based on our sometimes
inconsistent offense, and the fact that this is a rivalry game that tends to be closer.

What drove the line higher is that someone does know something, but what they know is
that a lot of the early money (pre-line betting)came down on UGA. Vegas just used a
bunch of formulas based on that pre-line betting and other financial indicators to
arrive at 12-13 points when the line came out. Pre-line betting is mainly people
just picking UGA as the winner and taking whatever the money-line (non point spread betting)
ends up being.

At least that's how it was all explained to me by someone who I think knows. Personally
I only know enough to realize that Vegas is always the true winner as it's them building
billion dollar casinos and not people building a multi-million dollar home off of their
winnings. I limit my betting to occasional friendly wagers with friends for bragging rights, lol

God Bless and Go Dawgs

I understand that, Wartdawg, and I agree, but that line hasn't BUDGED. We're still sitting at -13 this morning, and it's Thursday. Usually that spread would have settled down a little. It's tempting to take Auburn, team loyalty or not, just because of that gulf of a spread.
