No, I don't, but there is somebody to answer to and somebody with a "grand design" so to speak. We have an OC that has coaches who report to him, a DC that has coaches who report to him, why should the ST be deemed so unimportant as to not follow that same model? How would our D work if we just had the defensive coaches and no coordinator? How would the O work with....well, that one's a bad example.

Certainly don't disagree, that's for sure. I've heard that it hasn't been so much of a coaching problem but more of some of the players have been "freelancing" on the field at times, out of their lanes etc etc and have gotten burned. Believe they are going to change personel on the field....ie, they will be playing more starters with more experience rather than using freshman etc. Last kickoff against UF you saw Tree and Williams on the field.

May be incorrect but when I think of a good ST's team, I automatically think of VT.....they don't have a specified ST coordinator, Beamer oversees the coaches running it.

Bottom line though, I'm with you .....something has got to be done.....geez, it's not rocket science so believe the answer will come with stronger personel in the game.....that's what VT, UF and other good ST's do.

I'm with Wlayton....still going to have it farmed out. I think we're thinking too much about this. Boss Bailey said yesterday it was really simple: when he played at UGA, they went live in ST, and they do not hit live now ever since Fabris left.

Simple. Go back to having 1st teamers do it, and run live plays--really hit and tackle.

I don't give a rip about a title "ST Coordinator" or not. That's just a title. Big deal.

Go out and run kick off coverage LIVE and knock the hell out of someone. Then, you will do it in a game.

The simple thing for CMR to do (in my opinion) would be the following:

1. Hire Ralph Friedgen as OC.
2. CMR become the ST coach. Let Fridge run the offense and CTG run the defense and CMR run the ST.

BulldogShannon, you are totally contradicting yourself. If CMR becomes the ST coach, don't care which way you approach it, hiring, firing, looking, total contradiction. Check what you said before you come back at me. This could get good.

Buc, I'm missing something.

1. You can only have 9 coaches.
2. If CMR fires Bobo and hires the Fridge, we still have 9.
3. If CMR will focus only on special teams, we will still have 9 coaches, but we will have CMR only dealing with ST, since Fridge can handle offense.

How is that a contradiction? The main thing is what Boss Bailey, who played under CMR, said. The only thing we do different now is we don't have live real hitting today. Under Boss, we still split it up (like Wlayton said), but we don't have contact now, whereas we did under Fabris, and we were more physical.
