The Tradition Continues

Y'all keep talkin' about IC sitting, but are you sure that
was his choice? I heard a sideline reporter say word was he was okay to come back in, and I saw him standing there with his helmet on. I'm not so 100% sure him not coming back in was his call.

Actually don't think it was IC's call. Watching the game again today, it appears to me that a coaching call was made. One thing that I did like was watching IC at the end of the game, smiling, hooping and hollering. He was not pouting, maybe another "lesson" learned by a young college football player. Had a couple of backs leave that did have their lips protuding recently. Team game. IC did return for a couple of carries after his sideline stay.

Random thoughts....

1. I'm HAPPY for the next 364 days (my wife is happier)
2. ST....worst in college football....need to open up a new coaching position, go get a real ST coordinator and pay him.....stop using a collective staff of asst's
3. Not going to complain about the coaching on either side of the ball......without bad ST play, we win by 17 EASY. D won the game obviously and I felt the offense tried everything they could.....tried to establish the run, decent pass calls (AM missed on several throws, uh, like OC down the sideline), continued to run the ball at the end. No fumbles. Offensive calls weren't horrible imo, our offense is just above average.....all our BEST athletes are on the D.
4. No more complaints from me on CMR not "going for the win" and only settles for FG's
5. IC has talent but am starting to question his heart and toughness.....I'll give him the benefit of the doubt of being a freshman and WILL get tougher and stronger (still has a HS body). He didn't realize how tough it is being a RB in the SEC. He did return on that last drive a got a good 1st down for us.
6. AM played tough but below average.....needed MM.....agreed in THIS game to turn him loose and let him run but my biggest fear (that I have been saying all along) almost happened. That shot he took in the thigh could have cost us the game.
7. This game proved some players have a "role" on the team. While RS isn't a great RB, he was perfect for running straight ahead against UF's defensive front. Their D front is active and fast (can't run outside on them very well) but are vunerable to being run straight at them. We learned that with LSU, BAMA and AU.

8. Btw....Arkansas WILL beat USC, count on it. USC's offense has gotten bad enough that Ark's D will handle them enough.....and you know they will score.

7.

wlayton, gonna bum your random thoughts idea:)

1. yes, sometimes on TV something may look one way and not really be that way. I think IC is 100% fine as a dawg--the young man would have redhsirted behind those two studs at Bama had he chosen them,,would have given him time to grow up a little. He will be OK.

2. Richard Samuel earned the right to get the start next week. The young man has been yanked around ny this staff for 4 years. Give him 25 carries bext week against NMState, and give IC 10 or so. Then, IC should be ready to go for the final stretch.

3. I don't think there is room to hire a ST coach under the rules. What I would do is fire Bobo, bring in a proven OC (Ralph friedgen or Whipple if he would do it), and Richt should become the special teams guy and figure head. That way, he would have a OC and DC who can run the day to day stuff and Richt (who is a GREAT man to be the head figure of our school)can focus on Special Teams and recruiting.

4. Agree with wlayton: not a chance in hades ARK loses to SC. The best thing that could hjave happened for Georgia was for ARK to play crappy against Vandy; Bobby Petrino will hammer them all week. ARK 37 SC 16

5. We will win the east, finish 10-2. That helps recruiting.

6. Go steal one more JUCO NT to back up JJ next year, and move Geathers to Tyson's position. That will be a tru 3-4 defensive line, massive. With the LBers we have coming back for next year (year 3 under CTG), it could be special.

BS.....don't see where you have contradicted my thoughts. IC will get tougher but not tough enough yet. RS does deserve to start but he's not a great RB (btw BS, he won't start, he's injured). And I realize there's maximum coaches rule's......making a simple point of FIX THE SPECIAL TEAMS.
