I am sad to hear about Larry being ill, He is by far the world greatest sports caster. It seems like we lost so much when he could not call the games any longer. I pray the he makes a full recovery. I have several cassett tapes and 1 cd of his calls. I love them all from Rex Robinson kicking that field goal against KY to hunker down one more time, sugar falling down out of the sky, to I broke my chair and they will have to repair this stadium. I say again I miss him so much and there will never be another to call a game like he did. God bless you Larry and thank you for giving me the most wonderful UGA memories ever.

He definitely painted a clear picture. When you listened to Larry, he made you feel like you
were there right down to the crowd noise and sideline activity. You also knew where the ball
was... it wasn't the 49 or 50 yard line; it was the 49.. and a half.

You can listen to some of his individual play calls, and just about know how the entire game
had gone up until that moment.

People will always remember those calls on specific plays that were so unique, but it was much
more than just that. He truly made you feel like you were there even during the more mundane moments.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

My prayers are with him and his Family, He will never be replaced!!!! I also will never forget I met him the morning of the UGA/tenn game on the day of his Hobb nail Boot call. He was having coffee in the lobby of the Knoxville Hilton and he was somthing else, a little grumpy but took the time to speak with me. What a great day that was!!!!

OSD, I wish I had been there. I listened on the radio and I think I watched on network TV (pre internet games)
I will never forget the Hob Nail boot call. I have a pair I have had for 30 years.

For winning the Natty give every Dawg a bone AND prime rib steak.
