So, what are the chances that this could become a Colorado/UCF like game?

Some of you folks know that I sometimes like to look back at coaches, players and media folks. Found this article from Tim Tucker interesting. Goes back a short time.

Must say this. . . .I miss Coach Belin. Here with us for a short time, Coach Belin definitely had these young men reaching for the stars. Still wish Coach Belin only the best in the NFL. Coach Belin is what football is all about. He had the you know whats to coach at Vandy. Speaks volumes for a man that should be on a higher level, not the NFL, should be running a D1 team. It will happen, and some will take time to look back at this post and say the old fart was right.

Listen to me . . . . Coach Belin is going to be an incredible coach in the college ranks, and those that are in tune with superior coaching talent, this is my man.

Go Dawgs . . . . coach them up as Coach Belin would do . . . . :-)

Secondly, if CMR finishes 8-4, maybe even 7-5, please stay in touch kd because I don't think CMR will be fired.

I agree, a winning season will get Richt another year if and only if he gets a new OC. That being said Richt better start calling more plays if he wants that winning season.

Personally I think that if we lose in Jacksonville this year, Richt needs to go regardless of the end of the year W/L. I'm so sick and tired of hearing ESPN saying Florida will win just because it's the Georgia- Florida game.

I posted last week saying I would wait on Richt's judgement after the South Carolina game, and even though we lost I can't blame that loss on the coaches, I for one think that the players lost that game. So basically if Richt wins out til the Florida game, and wins that game and DEFINATELY BEAT TECH then he will have a pass with me.

Y'all cheer them on today. I can't be there this time as
the fickle fate of scheduling gave me two little league
games to coach today.

ZERO chance.

Everyone keeps bring up losing to UCF. While we DID stink in that game (maybe, just maybe UCF had something to do with that?), UCF is a very good team and may run the table this year. If we played them this week, I would pick UCF.

hmmm... I'm kinda lost on CMR. I mean he comes in and competes and actually has a legit shot at going to the National Title game in his second year.. Wins alot of games in the first three years and gets ranked in the top 10 in each of those years.. then he announces he is going to be CEO head Coach instead of "play caller" coach.. He loses VanGorder and things just haven't been the same since.

It takes time to become a CEO coach like Jo Pa or Bowden (which Richt attributes as the people he would like to emulate). Most college football programs are already that way. But the ones that aren't, are usually the wild cards which was once Georgia (Boise State, West Virginia, Texas Tech come to mind - keep in mind the SEC is the toughest conference in college football).

I guess it all boils down to how long does it take a "play caller" type coach to transition into a "CEO" type coach and does the Bulldog NATION have enough patience? Richt still has the 3rd highest winning percentage of all DAWG coaches (1st Robert Winston - 5-1-0 83.3%, 2nd Herman Stegeman - 20-6-3 74.1%). It's kinda hard having patience with the talent we keep getting each year and our desire to be named National Champs again (it will happen with or without Richt)....

I guess I'm wondering if Richt can make the right choices to TEACH his team how to be winners because IMO Richt is a winner on a island right now with assistants that have not proven they can do the job.. That is the most critical decision Richt can make as CEO. If he fails or is slow to react or he refuses to face the facts because of his loyalty to his coaches, he will not succeed...
