"It's our job to get the job done, and we didn't do that today. It's not the coaches, it's us. We played our hearts out and just didn't finish."

Inside linebacker Christian Robinson after the loss to USC.

We all saw what went wrong in our last game and there was enough blame to be shared by all the players and coaches.

Fans calling to bench AM along with a shopping cart full of other mindless suggestions none of which would guarantee instant success.

What coach worth having in our program would leave his current team mid-season to come here? What would be the fall out to recruiting?

Forget Gruden not going to happen. I am not sure he would be my first choice.

IF….. A coaching change is to happen it will come at the end of the season, as it should IMO.
What I did see was CMR embracing tight end MB after he scored his touchdown.

Why was that important, some would say because MB’s catch at that time may have saved CMR’s job.
Horse hockey, Michael Bennet has worked his butt off and done everything the Georgia way.

He was rewarded for his hard work and therefore acknowledge for his effort by CMR. My money says it won’t be his only career score. This kid has great hands and runs clean routes.

I have from a very reliable source that the players tasked to spy for the fake punt blew their assignment. Fake punts and FG’s were covered in length by the special teams coach at several meetings and just before game time again. We flat did not execute!

There was also a senior CB who misses an open field tackle on the same play. Blame the coaches or blame the players same results.

Word also is while not calling out the names of the players extra running assignments will be handed out.

We have 10 games left before a bowl, all very winnable.

Our Dream team recruits made a choice to come and play for UGA and CMR. From what I have seen from IC and MM I glad they did. I am sure the others will surprise also.

For a number of unknown reasons after this past week I am getting a strong feeling we will finally take care of business in Jacksonville this year.

We keep improving like we did from week one to week two over the rest of the season and CMB scores over 30 in our remaining games we may be stuck with this coaching staff for another year.

Win a major bowl game and it would be a given. “Horrors”

It is going to be an interesting 11 weeks, just like we said it would back in July.
Just maybe we get our first “W” this week.

Play a bunch of folks, don’t get hurt and get ready for Ole Miss

Pause and give thanks

Have a great weekend and a safe week.

As always “Go Dawgs”

Go Dawgs!

yd1, I agree. We will be stuck with this staff for a while. No way are we going to make a change mid-season - even I wouldn't do that, and you are right - nobody wants this job right now anyway.

It's going to take a WHOLE BUNCH of WINNING to heal these wounds. :(

The last time I remember a team firing a coach during a season in the SEC was when Bama fired Shula.
Even Shula had a tough first year, losing to LaMo.
I do think Richt should make some adjustments.
I will never join the group of fans who would prefer we have a lousy season to get a new coach.
I hope we can turn it around and if we can't, I hope Coach Richt has the courage to exit with class.

I personally know very few people who want to fire CMR in the middle of the season and
then have some interim coach or anything like that. Many have already seen enough and
feel they want to be done with Richt, but very few have said "today".

One thing I am sick of though is blown assignments. I understand that they happen and it's
easy to blame that on players and not coaches, but here is the problem.

We probably lead the nation in "blown assignments" over the past 5 years. The players
names keep changing, but the end result is the same. At some point you have to arrive
at the common denominator through all of it. One of two things are happening: We are either
totally ineffective in teaching these players their assignments, or we are recruiting
kids time and time again who have real bad cases of attention deficit disorder. It's gone
beyond just random happenstance.

Look at this statement: "I have from a very reliable source that the players tasked to spy for the fake punt blew their assignment."

Notice it doesn't say "the player".. it says "the playerS". So should I suppose it was a random
attack of the amnesia monster on multiple players at the same time? I don't buy that. Something
more is afoot there. Plus under the circumstances of the game at that point, the coaching staff
should have been warning the special teams to be on the lookout for it right then and there and reminding them of their assignments.

Then I am supposed to believe that multiple players forgot that during the 30 seconds it took
them to go from the sideline to the field? Sorry, but I just don't buy that at all.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

I have been following this site for a few years now, and have just recently decided to become a member and throw my two cents in. I really enjoy the conversations on this site, and believe there are a lot of knowledgable folks on this site.

One question I would put forth is, when is a blown coverage not a coaches fault? Or, if you put the players in the right positions to succeed, and coach them up all week, when is it the players fault?

There was a timeout before this punt, we had plenty of time to remind the team to look for the fake punt.

Did that happen?

Just a few thoughts and questions I have rolling around in my mind.

Look forward to being apart of this board.

Exactly WoodstockDawg.. exactly.

What I see a lot of times is people tend to look at these things in a vacuum, devoid of prior
evidence. Sure you can look at the SC game and blame it on the players if you look at this
single game.

Get out of that vacuum though and look at the totality of the past 3-5 years and you a
pattern. A pattern where the players names have changed multiple times, but the exact
same thing keeps cropping up. Then you look at the common denominator in all of those
cases.

God Bless and Go Dawgs
