So what are you guys going to say if they win Saturday?

stanger, I hope that I am not reading you right on this post.

I will jump up and down and it will make me a happy camper . . . for one week. This is Spurrier and South Carolina. The following week we move on to the next game.

Question for you. How did the game in Atlanta make you feel? I remember you saying that the team was sky high and all of us would be surprised.

I was surprised, disappointed and did not see any changes that some have posted over the off season. That includes you. That includes me, I drank the koolaid. The koolaid that I drank did not come solely from the players, most of it came from the same folks that are permitted to sit with Sir Richt when he is holding court.

Do you feel good about the outcome of the game? How will you feel if we win on Saturday? How will you feel if we lose on Saturday? The patent line is, I am a Bulldog and I support the team. I say the same, however, why should I support a losing team that loses because of our inferior coaching staff? That does not mean that I don't support the University of Georgia, it means that I do not accept losing because we have coaches that are more than ten years behind in the game that they are trying to coach. Answer one question for me . . . . would you keep Richt and Bobo on your staff? Pretty simple question.

Guess I am calling you out stanger. I said that.

Seems like every year for the last 3, anytime we have a bad stretch (which is quite often, I might add) and people began to voice their concerns, somebody always has to throw out the "I'm a better fan than you because I'm positive and you expect results, and how dare you have the gall and disloyalty to question anything having to do with this team", and blah, blah, blah. I fell for it the first couple of times and got sucked into defending my loyalty to folks like this, but no more. I know what kind of fan I am, many on this board know what kind of fan I am, just as I know the amount of red and black that flows through almost everyone's veins on this board. So if somebody, again, expects me to feel bad or make excuses for being disappointed with an aspect of our program and wanting it corrected, well, I guess they'll have to bark up someone else's tree this year.

right on sadlerdawg and buc. (I was supposed to give a speech at my sister's wedding, it was Nov 1, 1997 (Yes, it was Ga/Fla, and Robert edwards ran wild.) How do I know that? B/c she got married at a country club that had a bar with a TV.

Guess where I was during the cake cutting? Yep, watching the game.

Stanger, I hope we beat SC; I won't be surprised if we DO.

But the problem is, I also won't be surprised if we lose at home to Miss state; I won't be surprised if we lose at home to a crap Auburn team, and THAT is the problem.

Hell, we may beat SC 35-10, and still lose to Vandy and KY and MSU and Ole Miss and finish 7-5.

Regardless of how we do saturday isn't going to change the fact that with a conference that consists of Spurrier, Dooley, Saban, Miles, Mullen, and Petrino and Chizick, we are behind the 8 ball.

sadlerdawg, there are a lot of boards that anyone can play their simple simon game with. We have a couple on this board that seem to sway back and forth, think a lot of that is lack of time in grade.

No different than you, tired of the support for a lost cause. They (the supporters of Sir Richt) just need to stand their ground and we will stand ours.

Those that support Richt like to say we need to be careful with our words. Players in high school read these blogs and that might send them to another school. Heaven forbid. Where would these players go? Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Mississippi State, South Carolina, hell even over to 10th Street. Glad that we are getting all of the top athletes to attend UGA. Except those that are 2 and 3 stars that go to Boise State.

These young folks go to a university that they think they can play for right away. They also go because the HEAD COACH might have enough going on to put them into the next level.

When you play scared, you lose. By that I mean simply this . . . . you have a good program you don't go 6-7 and make excuses. Third down and a mile, run a draw play. Need I go further? Willing to take the challenge.

It seems the majority are reading off the same page. With the type players UGA has, we should never and I mean never lose to Vandy, Miss State, Old Miss, Ky ect. I was going to put USC in there but Spurrier has managed to recruite well the last couple of years. As I said eariler, if you can not see the decline in play, wins, physical and mental strenth, then you have not really followed UGA football. This is the coaches fault, it is the coach that is suppose to teach and motivate. We send lots of players to the NFL, but no SEC championship since 2005, no NC since 1980, so who in the heck to you hold responsible, us fans that are tired of a declining program.

Buc, I've heard that hogwash about the recruits being scared off by the fan base. Please. If recruits are going elsewhere, I can assure the dicht disciples that the recruits are steering away from UGA based on watching a once proud program decline to being the laughingstock of the SEC, not because of what the fans are typing. In fact, I think more players would be enthused by a passionate fan base as opposed to a "yes-man" mentality fan base that accepts mediocrity and has no desire to improve.

duck, I'm sure some of these folks do hold the fans responsible--anything to deflect the blame off of their hero.
