What are you guys hearing about the possibility of Big 12-2 teams moving to the SEC?

I thought that was old news....has it come up again? Also thought the SEC wanted to stay as is.

Seems for the past couple of years A&M is mentioned the most. Notice now that Oklahoma State is being mentioned also. Think the folks in that conference have had enough of Texas. Texas is to Big 12 what Ohio State is to Big 10. Both Oklahoma State and A&M would be welcomed additions from where I sit.

Oops on my part. Recently Oklahoma not Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma is also in the mix to join Texas A&M and make an attempt to head east and join the SEC, due to the Longhorn Network. Here is what Matt Hayes of the Sporting News is saying about Oklahoma and Texas A&M:

"A source told Sporting News on Wednesday that both Texas A&M and Oklahoma are so concerned about rival Texas gaining a recruiting advantage with the newly formed Longhorn Network, the two institutions could turn to the SEC if the problems can't be figured out. The core issue: The Longhorn Network will televise live high school football games in the state of Texas, an obvious recruiting advantage for Texas."

Still think the SEC wants to keep the conference at 12 teams.

Any change of conference for Oklahoma requires ratification by the state legislature... which is controlled by Oklahoma State grads. Oklahoma isn't going to any conference without Oklahoma State.

Every college football fan in the country ought to be concerned about the Longhorn Network. The irony is... who was it that fought the NCAA so that schools could negotiate their own television contracts in the first place? OU and UGA...

If the Longhorn Network moves ahead the Big 12-2 is dead, it is just a matter of time before it is buried. I can't see another conference taking Texas with their own network. They will likely go independent. Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State will likely head to a smaller conference. Mizzou wants to be in the Big 10 and started this entire mess in the Big 12 by flirting with the Big 10 only to be spurned. That leaves OU, OSU, aTm, and Texas Tech. Those four to the SEC making a 16 team super conference would be awfully good.

Oklahoma government is run by OSU grads? Burger chains I could believe, but actual state government? :)
