From Athens: "Just Asking"

sadlerdawg, did not know quite how to go about this. Anyway, long story short, I served the same time this Marine did at Atsugi. I was involved with some things that he mentions in his writings. Anyway, I read this from time to time, reliving my youth. I grew up in Forest Park, Georgia, this Marine grew up in Conley, less than a stones throw away from me.

U-2 aircraft, and all of the other pieces of this Marines recall, MAG-11, Mambo Boys etc. Sagama Otuska was a Navy drinking hole, while Yamato was the Marines place of downing a few. This is a great read for me, and think that you will relive some Boot Camp days about team work and so forth. If you come across this part in the thread hope you enjoy. Might not hurt for the troops that are now stationed in Athens to read parts of this story. Have a great 4th.

Chapter 8 is a pretty good start to the things mentioned above.

wlayton, that game was the first one that I had ever went to. Not trying to make you guys feel old but I was only in the ninth grade . That game was extremely disappointing since while we were en route to the stadium I leaned out and barked at a broke down Florida fan on the on ramp of I-75...then we lost the game. Go Dawgs!!!!!

b2b......actually, I think it's GREAT. You are young and a devout DAWG, can't be any better than THAT.
