kentdaddy, sadlerdawg, you two probably more than most on this board will express your thoughts, without pulling punches. That is not a slant at anyone. I have some things to say, just wondering what you two think about this article and . . . . .
I said sometime back that I will not let this issue pass, meant that. Southern Cal got their butts kicked, now I want to see what Tressel and the OSU will have to face up to. It won't be the truth, but lots of folks will be watching, and college football and the NCAA are looking at their livelihoods in my opinion. They get away with this, college football no longer can hide the fact that it is play for pay. My opinion.

Tressel said point blank that he knew what was going on, after he said that he didn't know.
At this point, I don't give a hoot what AJ did or did not do at UGA. That is history and apparently the case is over.
Now we have these OSU players stepping forth and saying we did it, and everyone knew it. There are some OSU players that are saying they did not break the rules, they are however saying they were aware that others on the team were. Guess everyone except the college president and the athletic director knew these guys were driving nice autos. Guessing they had no hands on with the football team . . . BS. We all know that athletic directors do not step out of line or hide the truth. They may like RED PANTIES, but they don't believe in breaking the rules.
Tressel fined $250,000, please . . . . 2 game suspension moved up to 5 game suspension . . . . please. One damn thing for sure, Tressel went out and hired a law firm that is being led by a former director in the NCAA. Second time this scum bag has violated major NCAA rules. Don't know about you folks, I am watching and will post.
OSU should get the same treatment that SMU got many years ago. We will see, this will not go away. Could very well be the end of the NCAA as we know it.
sadlerdawg, some months back we had a rousing discussion about playing for pay on this board. Look any closer to that now? I don't approve, just saying that all of this crap starts before these kids can spell the words COLLEGE FOOTBALL.

Sadly as well, Buc, here is what is going to happen to Tressel and OSU:
Nothing. He will serve a few games of suspension (he'll call the plays from home or the hotel or some posh environment), and then be right back on the sideline. OSU will suffer MAYBE two scholarships gone for a couple of years, and that's it. The NCAA will crow about how hard they came down on them, just like Auburn (yeah, right). And if Georgia self reports the same type of thing, you watch - "death penalty". They hate us.
I hate the NCAA. It is a crime syndicate.

The tattoo dude for the OSU player is charged with federal crimes.
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Federal prosecutors have charged the tattoo parlor owner who bought Ohio State football memorabilia with drug trafficking and money laundering.
Documents filed in U.S. District Court in Columbus on Friday indicate Edward Rife will plead guilty to the charges and cooperate with authorities.
An attorney previously told Ohio State coach Jim Tressel that at least two current players sold signed Ohio State memorabilia to Rife, who ran a local tattoo parlor.
Documents show Rife will plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute more than 200 pounds of marijuana, and one count of money laundering.
Five players, including star quarterback Terrelle Pryor, have been suspended for the first five games this fall for accepting improper benefits from Rife totaling between $12,000 and $15,000.
The Ohio State University without a football program? That whole places seems out of control.
