The tattoo dude for the OSU player is charged with federal crimes.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Federal prosecutors have charged the tattoo parlor owner who bought Ohio State football memorabilia with drug trafficking and money laundering.

Documents filed in U.S. District Court in Columbus on Friday indicate Edward Rife will plead guilty to the charges and cooperate with authorities.

An attorney previously told Ohio State coach Jim Tressel that at least two current players sold signed Ohio State memorabilia to Rife, who ran a local tattoo parlor.

Documents show Rife will plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute more than 200 pounds of marijuana, and one count of money laundering.

Five players, including star quarterback Terrelle Pryor, have been suspended for the first five games this fall for accepting improper benefits from Rife totaling between $12,000 and $15,000.

The Ohio State University without a football program? That whole places seems out of control.

Thought a lot about my last post, knowing that I chirp a lot.

Have to say this, and some of you folks will understand.

I grew up in the South. I served in the Navy back in the day when the Civil War was still being fought in the services. Not only by folks from the South, also from the North. Also, those that lived on both sides of the fence, much like D. C. folks have done on the inner loop forever. They blow with the wind and never change their position.

I have watched closely over the years and have come to the same conclusion that I had back in the 50's. Talking about football, sports, that sort of thing.

The North, Northeast, Upper Midwest, hate it that "We" folks from the South can beat their butts in anything related to sports.

When I first signed on to this board, one of my comments to wlayton was . . . . I remember those folks in Michigan in the 60's on their field talking to our players about being black-eyed pea eaters. I am pretty sure he remembers, anyway. Those black-eyed pea eaters went on to kick some Michigan butt in Ann Arbor. I will insert a paragraph that I have had for many years.

Georgia upset national champion Alabama, 18-17, in the opening game and then shocked mighty Michigan , fresh off a Rose Bowl appearance, 15-7, in Ann Arbor. Trailing the Crimson Tide 17- 10 with two minutes remaining, Dooley called the “flea flicker” play that saw Kirby Moore pass to Pat Hodgson, who made a quick lateral to Bob Taylor who went 73 yards for a touchdown. Georgia still trailed 17-16, Moore passed to Hodgson for the decisive two-point conversion.

Allow me this. Times have changed, however I am not sure that what I see going on in the regions that I mentioned above are ready to live by the rules that they want the "Southern Boys" to live by. Southern Boys, all colors, so don't go there. I am too damn strong and will kick ass on that subject.

Now the Big Whatever is talking about paying the players. The same conference that was on our butts. The SEC was too damn lax, allowing too much. Do I agree with Slive . . . if you have read any posts on this board, you know the answer.

You decide, I just have thoughts . . . . . theOSU gets away with this, college football is over. Won't be semi-pro . . . . and what does semi-pro mean . . . . taking half of the rewards. I played semi-pro baseball, I understand the meaning, and the rewards.

I am afraid that Tressel will get much money, paid by the same corrupt people that are running his university at this point, and theOSU will escape, and the bandits will win again. Folks we are losing COLLEGE FOOTBALL. Sorry, it left prior to Tressel and OSU.

Go Dawgs!!
