Figgins, White, Lynch and Charles in the game at the same time. Four folks recruited for TE. Thinking Charles is headed somewhere other than TE. In high school Charles used his size as a wide receiver/TE to dominate DB's and linebackers, just as you describe Lynch using his size, friend you are on pace. Bobo needs this one to work.

Fine with me if they spread the field sometimes with only IC in the backfield. Who do you key on?....IC?.....TK?......OC?.......BF?....White?.....Bennett?......Lynch?...Troupe?.....BS?....etc......Take your pick, oh.....and good luck.

averagedawg, that is what I have come to understand about high school football in the two states. I think that Georgia is rated as the fourth or fifth best state for recruits. Know that DD is working our state real hard.

As far as MB is concerned, he has the size, know he can catch a football . . . . SEC is a place for tough guys, no doubting that. Not saying . . . .

Know that you have to be proud of Alex and Alec. Think these young men are from your area back in the day. I still think that Alex is going to play some football this fall, and play it well. :)

You are dead on averagedawg. Lived and played football in both states. Tenn high school football doesn't compare with Ga high school. There are some good teams in the state (Maryville, Alcoa, Fulton, and a few others). The East Tenn area usually dominates Tenn high school football. MB went to a middle Tenn private school. Not to mention that, I believe the school MB attended was a Div II private school. There is absolutely not compeition at that level. I would compare it to GA middle school football. He had a huge jump to make when he went to UGA. That being said, he does have good enough physical tools to be a solid player. He has to contribute. He should have had plenty of time to adjust. If he doesn't this year, I am not sure that he ever will.

Seems our TE's are stout. Good coaches find a way to adjust to the strengths of their team. No excuse for not using these guys often. Yeah, we may be a little down at WR, but we have IMO the best TE group in the country.

As far as defense goes, I feel pretty good about everything except for our safeties. Very worried about these guys. Rambo has been decent, but decent will get you beat in this league. Have guys with a lot of hype coming out of high school and jc. Time to step up.

Buc, some good ball played in the Newnan, LaGrange, Columbus, west Georgia area.
AD5, Murfreesboro Riverdale had a good program back in the day. I think their coach ended up in Oak Ridge.

Can't be said any better than that. An example of that would be . . . . what will Auburn do this year without Cam quarterbacking . . . . other than maybe passing a little green among the brothers. We can bet that the quarterback won't be running the same game plan that Cam ran.

Have to say this . . . .
Grantham is in his second year, and already the talk is about the Defense and how far it has come in the second year. Of course this season has not been played yet, so the jury is out at this point.

Our Offensive coaches have been here longer than some last at other schools. Don't believe that the offense can live behind the same chatter that it has put forth the last two years. I along with everyone else want to see these players utilized, like you mentioned above AllDawgs5. Not going to live on hope this offseason, show time. The offensive talent resides in Athens.

Whatever it is worth . . . . Boise State recruiting this year is not in the TOP 50. Sounds like damn good coaching when I look at results.

averagedawg, too many of those folks close to the Alabama line are crossing the line, hope we can change that. Ogletree's are a good example of what you said. Winning football changes a lot of things.

Not being ugly, just expressing one old farts thoughts. :)

Buc, nothing ugly about that. The truth is the truth. I have always been on the side of Richt. I still believe he is a good coach, but no doubting he has done a very poor job coaching the kids up. No matter what the reasoning.

Average, again you are right on. Gary Rankin was the coach at Riverdale. He is now at Alcoa where he has won I believe 7 straight state titles. Even with all the winning, and an ESPN ranking of 38, I think they had one kid this year sign a D1 scholarship. Kid got a late offer from UK because they had to sign a few more after previous recruits left for other schools. The kids are good high school players, who play the game the right way. Maryville for one. You might see one penalty a game. You will never see offsides, illegal formation. Rankin is the same way. Very discipline. Every now and then, you might see a couple of legit prospects, but nothing compare to GA or the other state down south.
