Some things are obviously hard to tell in a spring game, but what really stood out to me was the linebackers. I felt like Ogletree was always around the ball, Jarvis Jones also pressured Murray several times (probably would have had a sack on one of the completions to Orson), and Richard Samuels played like he wasn't going to let Tree and Robinson feel at ease about their jobs. He was constantly around the ball.
Running game was nothing special (but apparently Malcome had a nice run after I left) and Thomas fumbled on the goal line. And King did have a nice run for ~10-15 yards at one point.
And Kwame doesn't wanna be forgotten once JJ roles in to town. He looks like he is really catching on and had several nice plays behind the line. Would love to see him and JJ lined up together occasionally, could make Lattimore think twice about running up the middle

I was there until part way through the 4th.

after watching the replay on espn 3 spot on about the Backers...........Geathers played well also.....Jenkins arrives we will only be better......DB showed lack of depth and speed....Smith's catch and run for the TD and no one came close to bringing him down....RB's also showed lack of depth again Malcome showed signs that he is going to be a good one..........
The thing that stuck out the most to me was if AM goes down we are going to be in big big trouble...........

AM--best in SEC soon may be best in country at QB
KG - did what he has been asked by CTG - he will get plenty of PT - look for him and JJ in the game at he same time
We have a solid linebacking troop... lots of contact at the line or in backfield with RB's
JJ had a sack on AM- he won't have to hit the brakes come Sept 3rd
KM - will also carry the rock on Saturday's
By fall the "O" line will gel, we know Ben will snap and his wingmen will get it done.
good that CTS made sure the line worked out at both tackle and guard.Good thing !
AM and Bobo have a world of weapons..both Brandon's will see PT on offense.
OC will be a force
BSU will not be able to keep up with our team speed, awesome....
And the best News Georgia Won... no major injuries! Go Dawgs
Go Dawgs!

QBs - if you have a receiving corp like ours, you don't look as sharp. AM is one of the best in the NATION. Mason has some good strength, just watch the judgement. Lemay, hard to say, but not too bad from what I could see. No targets.
RBs - average group. Very vanilla. Thomas needs to quit buttering bread for the rest of the team with his hands. IC certainly has a gap to step into. Again, no explosion. Thomas Brown needs to have a word with these guys about finishing off a run with something behind the PADS.
OL - ? There were some nice holes, there were some HORRIBLE sacks. I can't tell. Lack of 1 v 1 and 2 v 2 really makes this one of the most difficult evals of the day.
DL - I'm feeling MUCH better, thank you very much.
LBs - A few brain dysfunctions, like biting on the play action, but good speed and nice hits. We should be just fine here.
DBs - Some nice pass break ups. Other than that, hard to tell. I don't know what they would have given up against actual pass-catching, YAC receivers.
Play calling - perfect. You don't want to give anything away, and we certainly didn't. CMR made the statement that you move the chains with short dinks and dunks and little scat routes and out routes. More of that same old <sigh> 4 to 6 yard short game I guess.
This game is always hard to read, but take away 1 v 1 and 2 v 2, and you learn even less. You can only watch individual performances, and I didn't see much in that effort.
My big takeaway - we better hope the pups in the latest litter are bringing some bite to go with all the bark we are hearing. Otherwise we may be headed for 7-5 or 6-6. (My pessimist is overwhelming my optimist today. I'm about to write an open letter. Stay tuned.)

Realizing that this is a game to quiet/stroke the masses for the most part, my biggest concern is still the offensive line. There was a lot of fanfare about our offensive line last year, we know how that played out. Think UCF.
Should not be looking past game one, however, game two against South Carolina and their defensive line . . . . . could cause some serious problems for us. They did come away with the top rated DE in the country, and like Crowell, he is the real deal. Rest of that line is pretty solid also. Don't want to see AM go down, and we all know that he lives on the edge, whether Bobo likes it or not. AM is not going to change, they can talk about foot work and a lot of things, AM will be AM. Also, he is a WINNER, he competes.
Smith situation also makes me stop and think about coaching. It appears to me that he is that shut down corner that any team wants and needs. I vote for letting the young man play the D side of the ball and just be damn good. Think I saw somewhere that he will play 70% of the time on the D side. I would rethink that. Leave him alone and don't listen to his wishes about playing on the other side. His shot at the pro level is being a shutdown corner. FACT.
With Orson Charles, Isaiah Crowell, and not going into the many others on the offensive side of the ball, please use the talent that is there. And there is a LOT of talent in the so-called skill positions. Skilled position to me means the offensive line. This offensive line somehow comes together, this team could be more than interesting.
One Old Fart's opinion. Go Dawgs, coach'em up. Feel really good about the talent that is in Athens now and soon to be expanded.
I love football . . . .

2. RB.....hurry up and get here IC
3. TE.....Lynch is HUGE and is going to be a real go to guy....great presence and great hands
4. WR.....T. King is going to be "the guy"....he will have a great year and be the leader...OC in the slot will be "freed up" in the secondary, will be hard to cover
5. OL.....believe will live up to LAST year's reputation
6. DL.....no worries anymore, especially when Jenkins gets here
7. LB.....Ogletree and Jarvis Jones are going to be FEARED by all offensive opponents...both beasts
8. DB's...seems much improved but school's still out
9. Kicking game......see #1 above
10. Coaching.....prove it to us please
Bottom line for 2011..........HIGH EXPECTATIONS
