Spring Football, here is hoping that the Dawgs get some practice weather that allows them to rise to the top. Thinking about the upcoming year, wondering which players will make a big difference in the way we play on defense.
Right now I am really caught up in Kwame Gaithers. Grantham told us last year that he really needs that big man in the middle. He also has said, well . . . . according to how you choose to play the 3/4. Did not take long for Grantham to show us what type of body he wants to run "his 3/4".
Here is hoping that Jenkins comes in and is everything he is being built up to be. I am a believer. Appears to me that Kwame had someone turn the light on, maybe some of his football playing family, or the new Godfather on the Defense . . . . Grantham. I have to believe that Grantham has had special conversations with the Godfather of S&C, Tereshinski. Can we even start to imagine the language that is used and the methods preferred when these two are in private.
Appears to me that Grantham is pleased with what he is seeing, he is however one of those Saban types that keeps everything close. Grantham says that Kwame is working his butt off, along with fat pounds from other parts of his body. Dude is huge, adding muscle and of course strength. Spurrier really wanted Kwame at South Carolina. Sorry.
Gaithers and Jenkins, Jenkins and Gaithers . . . I would hate to be the offensive center that takes a pounding from both of these guys for an entire game. Maybe both in the game at the same time on certain situations, who knows. These two along with two huge defensive ends sure puts a strain on the running game. Jenkins (6-foot-4, 340-pounds), Gaithers 6-6 350, supposedly Kwame has lost some of the "baby fat".
Just pounding the keys, you folks have enough knowledge to talk about others, or these two. I have several thoughts on others, give you guys a shot first.
Go Dawgs!! Coach'em up . . . .
