From Athens - Still quite-A very good thing

stanger, thanks again for the information.

Reading your post makes me believe that the changes that have been made to the coaching staff are positive moves. Starts at the top and makes its way to the players. Really feel that the lack of leadership in the past x number of years has led UGA football to where it has been the last x number of years.

When WM was released there was a sigh of relief. Adding Grantham seemed to pick us up a bit. Belin seemed to be positive also, understand moving on to greener pastures. Believe that Lakatos is going to be a blessing. At this point, JT seems to have found the missing link between the practice field and game day. He apparently demands the attention of everyone entering into his space.

Putting this with the post that you made, seems that the players understand that now there is a different mentality in Athens. Quoting Christian Robinson again is not necessary.

Could be that Richt has moved a little bit left or right of center in his approach to recruiting and player development. While I personally don't approve of breaking the rules, I do like to see Richt changing before our eyes. While it is college football, it is a business.

Thanks again for the update stanger . . . . maybe when you are around some of the young men . . . might pass along the fact that we are with them.

Coach this group of young men up and I agree that even "US" might be shocked.

Good stuff . . . coach'em up . . . . "SHOCK US". :)

Yes, thanks stanger and DO pass on whenever possible, that our collective group (which I believe speaks for others as well) are totally behind them, believe in them and what's going on in Athens and EXPECT to see great things starting this fall. Imo and experience......dedication and desire can achieve great things, "only the strong need to apply".

Big Bump wlayton . . . Returned this afternoon (Sunday) from the Lauderdale/Miami area, lots of young folks heading north on 95 and the Turnpike. Soon be time for UGA to get down to football business again. Looking forward to your reports, both your speak and connections input. Between you, yd1 and Stanger, this could be a solid spring of "in the know" talk, would like nothing better. :)

Go Dawgs!! :woohoo:

wlayton, watched the spring interview tape with Grantham, for the 3rd or 4th time. For a man to be wired like he is on the football field, and be as cool as he is when sitting with the reporters, impresses me. Not reading from charts or prepared material, he has got a grip on each and every player on the D side of the ball. Bring up a name, he knows exactly what he is going to do with him come show time. Believe we hit the jackpot with Grantham. One mans opinion. Just listening to him and some of the players comments, the guys wearing the pads seem to have great faith in CTG. :)
