Good Morning All,

We had a good soaker rain the first part of the week so my W.I.F.E. (Warning Information & Forecasting Equipment) advised me it would be a good idea for me to service the lawn tractor soon. With this gentle hint I have moved it to the number one spot on the “To do list” for Saturday.

Spring break thus far has been quite. We did have 4 players stop and help at a car wreck near Miami this week on their way to Key West. Kudos to that group! Other than that mum! A very good thing and an excellent start!

Word coming off campus is that this spring practice will be much more than the usual a bump and grind getting ready for fall ball. The word from the players is they expect this to be a very intense and focused learning experience. Buc, calls it coaching up.

Two players to watch this spring, Jarvis Jones and CK. CJT has connected with CK and CK wants to make good. He is bigger and has added 10 lbs of muscle. CK spoke of one and done. His rope has run to the short end and it now or never for him to have any chance to play on Sunday. This is another example of Father Joe making a difference. JT's reassignment may turn out to be CMR best move for 2011.Jones during his red shirt year caused more ends to turn than KM did during his. Yes Jones had a year of college ball but still it is an impressive comparison.

It is Year two for CTG and he is past being ready, he, CKO and CSL have been locked in the Bat Cave brewing up misery for the OC’s we play this year. I can’t wait for round two of CTG vs SS.

Just like all great NFL teams I think it will be our defense that pulls the train. I count special teams as “D” also they will be heard from. Bank it !

We have all spoke about how defenses win championships. I think year two will show us a vastly improved on the “D” side of the ball. The level of improvement will exceed our expectations. We show more of the junkyard attitude this year. Love it !!

I know we will be tested early, we get pass BS and USC by the time we get to Jacksonville it will be time for Russ to enjoy Gator Tail.

Dawgs tip off at 9:45 tonight-Good Luck!

I look forward to hoisting a forstie tonight and toast my fellow posters and all of the Bulldog Nation.

Give thanks again that we are not facing the problems like those to the east and west of us are. We are highly and favorable blessed!

Have a great weekend and a safe week. As always “Go Dawgs”

Go Dawgs!

Awesome post, yankeedawg1. I like getting the weekly update! My folks live in Athens, where I grew up, and I wish to live again someday. Until then, I'm living there vicariously through your posts.

Football is definitely a game of breaks, but you have to make your own sometimes. With the guys we have in place, I hope to see a positive turnover ratio this year. "Freaks" like Jarvis Jones have my hopes up, but I've said before that Caleb King is still here and I still believe in his ABILITY. Time for him to grow up (sounds like maybe he has) and SHOW UP (maybe he will). Joe Tereshinski may be man of the year in Athens, folks.

Does anyone remember Terrell Davis? Not at Denver - of course we all remember that. I mean at Georgia. Honestly, I see HUGE similarities between CK and TD AT UGA. Terrell was frequently injured and - with all due respect to TD - he sometimes seemed like he was looking for a place to fall down. I think CK - AT THIS POINT IN HIS CAREER - looks just as good. If CJT can turn him around and wring his potential out of him - special year.

Your thoughts?

CK has to feel Crowell breathing down his neck.
Competition is great.

Just a quick note I meant to tag on my earlier post. One of the guys I work with (kind of "anti-UGA) is very much into softball. Apparently, Caleb King's mom is too. The guy I work with spoke recently with one of the parents on CK's mom's team who is close to their family (how's THAT for a connection?! ). Anyway, according to this person, CK has REALLY and TRULY gotten the message that JT is sending out, and has recommitted his life to school and to HIMSELF. Of course time will tell, but it is nice to hear, especially from a UGA hater. Kind of renews hope, not just for football but all the way around. But for football too. ;)

Hey Thriller thanks for the input from CK's Mom. For many reasons the least football it would be good for CK to bolt his head on straight. We can have to many quality backs, fresh legs for 4 quarters...awesome !!!

Greetings from South Florida. Wife and I are visiting with son and daughter in the Ft. Lauderdale area. Daughter is a teacher, so she has the week off for Spring Break.

The mention of Caleb King turning the page probably means a lot to the UGA football team. Some have openly said that "back sliders" are not welcome with the folks that wear the Red and Black now. Refering to statements openly aired by Christian Robinson. Small wonder that the coaching staff has embraced Christian and his open contribution to calming down and being a "part".

Last week when I read several statements about Caleb wanting to embrace Isaiah and help him with his transition from high school to D1, must admit, cringed a bit. Started to post, pulled back on the bit and now am glad that I did. As I look back, still not happy with Caleb's attitude or workout habits prior to this year. Just didn't want to call him out by name, unless . . . . . talk is cheap, actions speak louder than words. Have heard those words many times in my life. Caleb came to UGA with all of the credentials, had one or two serious problems . . . BMOC, classroom skills. JT gets this young man ready to go the full year, we can be totally awesome on offense, if . . . . all parts of the puzzle fit together. We appear to have more than sufficient strength at running back and I dare say above average skill at that position.

Have mentioned it a time or two, my eyes are going to focus on the offensive line. Here is hoping that we have a "Friend" :) to get this bunch working as a unit.

Happy Friday yankeedawg1, warm that tractor up, been using mine for a while now. Thriller enjoy your posts, good stuff . . . :)

Go Dawgs . . . . Coach'em up!
