I read a lot of blogs, and don't always agree with many of them. I check Buck Belue out often and sometimes the former UGA QB turned sportswriter comes across quite well, in my opinion. Below I picked up some of Buck's scribblings and agree with a lot of what this Dawg had to say. Sometimes when it is slow, good to check other views out, with the exception of the FIRST CROWD. . . .

Also one of the folks that commented to Buck is the last quote shown below. To that, I say this . . . Scottie, bet WE understands what Joe T wants and the way he wants it done in his place of business. Good on Joe T. WE focuses this year, he can be a huge help to UGA. There is a gunslinger coming to Athens Town from Columbus that is looking to put some "notches" on the football, and doesn't care whose name it is. . . . .

Sure is good to hear Aaron was out there throwing it around, in the first day of spring football practice. That soccer scare had a lot of 'Dog fans worried for a minute. Can't lose this guy, if you're expecting to bounce back with a big season. Anyway, he's good.
And how about that first season as a starter? Better numbers than Greene or Zeier. And half the time, he was out there running for his life. I was impressed with his toughness and composure, more than those 3,000 passing yards and the 24 TD passes.
I expect him to play better this season, the second time around. His numbers might fall off some. Let's hope so, because that will mean that the 'Dogs aren't throwing it 40 times, in a catch-up mode. I'd be nice to play from the front and run it better.
Who's the competition for All-SEC? Brantley down at Florida? The kid Bray at Tennessee? Garcia at Carolina? Probably the guy he'll have to edge out is at Arkansas...Tyler Wilson. Petrino's going to be throwing it and Wilson has 3 senior playmakers in Greg Childs, Joe Adams and Jarvis Wright. Tyler Wilson will put up some big numbers.
Jefferson at LSU has a new passing game coordinator, so he's capable to having a solid season. With all the starters the Tigers have coming back, they will be one of the favorites to take the SEC. McCarron at Alabama has some players around him, but they'll be "run first."
Murray's in a good place this season. Sure A.J.'s gone, but Orson Charles and Tav King can go get it. Sturdivant and Glenn make a solid pair of tackles. Figgins is a nice protection piece at fullback. Maybe this group will protect better.
Aaron has the respect of the league and his team. Not sure about the media. Surely they can read the stat line. It'll be interesting to see who the "Pre-Season All-SEC QB" is later this summer. Bet Murray gets some serious consideration.

Coach Grantham has a shot this season. Last season...not so much. This 2011 defense will feature an upgrade in talent. Better athletes. More playmakers. This group could be capable of making the jump up to the SEC elite, when it comes to defense.
The D-Line now includes a legit nose tackle in John Jenkins. DeAngelo Tyson slides out to DE, where he can win individual battles. That's an upgrade in 2 spots. Not sure yet who wins the other DE spot, so list that as a big question mark entering spring practice. But plan on the D-Line being significantly better.
The LB position group has gone through a transformation, since the losing season ended. Alec Ogletree, who weighs in at 240 now, moved to ILB from his safety spot. Jarvis Jones is plugged in at SLB, where he can show off his All-SEC skills. Both these guys can run and chase. And make no mistake about it: this is a huge upgrade in ball skills. So, plan on the LB group being significantly improved.
The secondary looks solid to me. The CB's: Boykin and Smith are talented athletes, who can cover. Commings can slide over to free safety and be a good fit. Rambo is a tough, physical strong safety. And there is good depth too. Williams and Hamilton can play. And the new kids arrive soon: Marshall, Swann and Moore.
For the Bulldogs to get this turned around and get back to contending, the defense has to lead the way. In SEC play last season, it was ugly at times. Check the SEC numbers. Allowed 25 points a game. Last on 3rd down. Ninth in the red zone. Only 6 picks and 18 sacks.
On paper, this 2011 group looks capable to rising up and hunkering down. Todd Grantham must be excited to get a look at them on the field, now that spring practice is underway.

Buck,
This one is wierd. What seems to have happened is Joe T watched a video of Ealey working out and decided subjectively that Ealey wasn't working hard enough. Ealey laughs and jokes around a lot in the weight room, it's just his swagger. Joe T interpreted that as not giving 100% and sentenced Ealey to a run as punishment. So you can see why Ealey would be peeved when Georgia continues to make such subjective evaluations of him (pass blocking, effort, etc.). Objectively, Ealey leads the team in rushing.

Scottie, WE needs to tuck his lips in and be a "part" of the UGA football team. He is not BMOC. This year it seems his problems started in Round One with Joe T. Ko'd in the first round, look at it and accept it. UGA is moving in a different direction . . . decided to play the game the way it should be played, again. :)
