Good Morning All,

I spent a minute reviewing this week’s banter. No question that this week’s focus was tilted toward the defense and Father Joe.

We share the idea that CTG and his staff have a plan on how they want to use the talent we have and what’s coming in June. Comments about how we have a weakness with our secondary to giving up the big pass play.

To my thinking we control the line of line of scrimmage on defense we go a long way to helping our secondary. CTG comment last year about making the QB’s life unpleasant and closing the window on pass plays goes a long ways to turning L’s into W’s.

I have heard from several sources that JJ is the real deal and has put his off year to good use; he will rise to the challenge.

The good word and work from the players about JT’s training was music to our ears. Many setting personal records. Love It!

We don’t know much about CWF & CKO this will change very shortly. Players for both feel CMR made good choices with both. They too will get it done.

While there are many areas to point to why we will be better on “O” to me AM without AJ will make him a better QB. Think about KD,can TK be as good or better that KD? AM and OC act two…. More yards and TD’s bank it.

More production with our run game will make the hated CMB play action workable again. IC will score at least three times this season on screenplays. I don’t see anyone holding us under 30 points a game. Except ourselves !

Having said this, with our improved “D” making at least one more stop per game gives me reason to think with us winning the first two of the season would open the possibility to something special.

I like the idea of playing twice this year in the Georgia Dome and I don’t mean the second one in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl.

Call me bold, hey it is spring I am feeling my oats or is that arthritis?

Have a great weekend and a safe week. As always “Go Dawgs”!!!!

This time last year I was getting excited about the coming season - my only concern was AM as a freshman QB, thinking that he might have a bad year. What in the world was I thinking?! Most people hate to admit when they are wrong, but last year I had EVERYTHING 180 degrees wrong. AM turned out to be an excellent QB. It was everybody else (especially the RBs and OL) that let me down. I was just flat wrong last year.

This year I'm pumped back up. My optimism keeps looking back at last year and telling me that EVERY SINGLE LOSS (with the exception of Auburn) was close and winnable. (Heck, we were up in that Auburn game too, huh? So was 'Bama.) My rose colored glasses are telling me that proper conditioning could make the difference - the personnel are here now.

So where am I wrong this year? We have the QB. We have a genuine STABLE of RBs. The strength and conditioning should be 1000% better. The D can only get better (take away some tough situations the O put them in last year, and they really weren't that bad LAST year to begin with). What am I missing? It has to be something. (Coaching, anyone?)

This is the time of year I hate. But this site keeps me sane. Great post, yankeedawg1.

yd1.....thanks again for your Friday, pre-weekend pump-up, uh, I mean post. Look forward to what you have seen and heard all week in "God's Country".

I've said a few times......the puzzle pieces are in the box, if the coaches can connect them properly we will be seeing a possible trip to Atlanta.

Have a great weekend as well yd1.

wlayton spot on with the puzzle pieces in the box. Remember doing puzzles and feeling great when it becomes clear that the blue piece is sky and not water, it opens the gates to fitting the rest of the pieces together. That is what I think will happen come the start of fall practice and all hands are here in Athens. I will go on record that it will be our "D" that sparks the fire that will then light up our offense. Go Dawgs !!!!

In my mind, the only thing that could possibly prevent us from a 10-or-more-win season (barring injuries, of course) is the year-in-year-out refusal of CMR and CMB to go for the jugular. Personally, I think that the new culture that's been instituted by CTG and JoeT2 might just be enough to get us over the hump. What was our problem last year? Mostly, it was attitude and concentration. We have the ability to be as good as the 1978 Wonderdawg Underdawgs, who came one year after Coach Dooley's only losing season. And with Isaiah Crowell coming in...well, who knows?

Who knows?
