Muschamp a gator

Guess my take on this is looking at some other successful programs where Defensive minded coaches have a pretty good track record.

Saban, Stoops, Chizik(sp?) Meyer and the list goes on.

Another thing of note, Jeremy Foley does not let grass grow under his feet. You snooze, you lose. Hoping that Mc brought some of that same process to UGA. Think that it is called "Leadership".

Took us how long to bring in a Defensive Coordinator? Any changes for next year on the coaching staff are being held close to the vest . . . if there are any changes.

For sure Muschamp won't hurt the Florida program, for sure their defense just took a huge step forward with his hiring. Bothers me, I believe defense wins championships, seen it too many times.

There will not be a lack of young talent for Muschamp to recruit . . . within a 5 hour radius CTG.

As far as an Offensive Coordinator, taking all bets right now that Foley and Muschamp have that person in the bag. Foley makes decisions, unlike some I have witnessed in the recent past at a University that I love.

UF went after someone they knew would say yes to avoid being rejected and the protracted hiring mess like Miami is experiencing.

Evidently Muschamp lived in Gainesville for 10 year as a child so I have no qualms about instantly hating him.

Muschamp is one hell of a recruiter, so don't be expecting a big talent drop off at Florida. He will bring a ton of energy to Gainesville

Texas assistant head coach Major Applewhite will follow new UF coach Will Muschamp and become the Gators' offensive coordinator, according to a source close to the Florida football program.

As an aside it still perplexes my why Texas A&M doe snot instantly jump to the SEC. They would be a powerhouse in that state with SEC connections.

All good points guys......

1. Our players won't care about it at all, they're so young it doesn't matter to them
2. UF's D has been good for years anyway and like kd said....UGA thrashed AU twice
3. Relief for me they didn't go get Petrino, Peterson, Kelly, Harbaugh (he's going to Mich or the NFL anyway) or Mullen. These coaches can "coach um up".
4. Sure, WM has a ton of "energy", great recruiter, a defensive background and NO HCing experience.........sound familiar????? THE ZOOKER
5. May be the next great coach.......has to prove it to me..........totally different ballgame being a HC.........like their choice instead of the other 5 mentioned above.
6. As a Dawg fan........I'm relieved actually.
