Van Halanger out as S-C Coordinator

Don't know if there is any truth to it, but I am reading that this could be a temporary hire.

I do like the idea of getting a younger head in their that can relate with the players by going through the workouts with them. Not saying Joe T can't be the coordinator, but they need to hire a younger, passionate, and crazy guy as well.

I understand that Tereshinski is a hard-ass but it seems strange to elevate a 60 year old to that job. What's up with that, Buc?
Do the S&C guys count toward the maximum number of coaches? If so, by using JoeT there is an opening.
So you think Coach Mc is next? You thinking a reshuffling or someone leaving? What about Garner and all his titles? Recruiting Coordinator - D-line Coach (etc.)
If there is an open slot could someone be hired for one of Garner's titles?

ecdawg, appears that AllDawgs5 and you are on the same page.

Don't know why I would say this, but I have suspicions that maybe there were some differences on the D side of the ball. I would like to see Garner run the recruiting wars, that in itself is a huge job. Feeling around a bit, think that we may see some movement in this area. Just guessing, talking to a couple of folks about this . . . . need to get with sadlerdawg, he seems to sniff this kind of thing out better than most.

Feel sure AD Mc is showing his hand. There have to be some changes made and this cat is not afraid to make them. Athens town is not business as usual. I feel that our AD is on a FOCUSED MISSION. Working under Jeremy Foley at UF . . . everyone in Foley's classroom knew he would not hesitate to chop heads, at any level. SS thought he could return to UF, everyone would have open arms . . . there was one exception, Foley. That is one reason that SS had such a huge, smiling night in the Swamp, shoving it up UF's you know what.

AD Mc is not going to allow complacency in Athens. Who would have thought that the first change to the football staff would be Richt's best friend. Not me. Guess that he learned a lesson from the huge mistake that was made keeping WM far too long. Hate to see anyone lose their preferred place to help the team, but Richt did keep his friend on board. That is probably a concession that our AD agreed to, no doubt.

I like the idea of not letting folks have grass grow under their feet. Keep moving, keep improving.

Go Dawgs, get this business of football right. Championship players within a radius of 5 hours. I will remember that forever. 6/6 is not where we want to be. Boise State in Atlanta for openers . . . . Grantham you said it, show us.

I think we're in for some more changes - nothing MAJOR but some changes

agree with ecdawg - some changes might involve Garner's area

I was hoping ADMG would begin to make his moves

RabunDog, found this article to be along the same lines of your last post. Hard to disagree with some of the points the writer makes.

Local ABH paper has John Karsay Sr. as coming in as an asst to Joe T for the S & C.

We will see more changes in the near future. Don’t think that the bigger ones come until after the bowl game IMO. GO Dawgs

hate to sound negative Nancy here, but my worries are that JT is already here. If strength were an issue, wouldn't he be partly to blame? What I would have done is look around at some teams who are perceived as being strong (Bama), and get feelers out on if their Assistant S&C coach would like to be promoted as our Head guy.

But, I do think JT at least understands why he was brought in.

As for RG, I have "heard" from the same guy who says Crowell is already locked in to come to UGA (for whatever that is worth), that he will be moved to Rec. Coor. only, and after the season TG will go to Dallas and bring in one of their defensive guys who knows the 3-4 to run the DL. Dallas will being making a few changes after the season.

Hope that comes true.

BTW, we need to get the JUCO NT jenkins away from OK State.
