Gets to me a bit, cannot understand totally what I am seeing. Probably wrong on this, however, think that Richt will resign. What I just said surprises even an old fart like me.

It is not the losing . . . . it is how we lose. I do not like CASUAL FOOTBALL, that is what we have had for far too long.

Been a part of UGA football for a long time, never, ever, have I felt like this. Low is not the word.

Buc I hope your right - I've also had the feeling that he might leave - he just looks like he's really not into this anymore - think he wants to join CBB and CTD to go around mentoring these misguided guys - that's a great cause and applaud them for it - as kd said - he's already peaked - it's time to move on

Guess kd has made me think a lot about this has gone on for some time - I think back to when CVD let CER go - IMO maybe because he did not want his successor to be better than he had been - CVD was good and could motivate them pretty good - also had the fortune to get HW and other good players - you remember he usually handled them gators pretty good - they always had better players - they just had poor coaches - which points to our situation now

I also have the feeling that CMR and CTG don't get along too good - CTG is more in your face / high intensity - CMR is more touchy feely - well we all know that football is not a touchy feely sport - will always be a DAWG FAN - remember the fist few years I followed the dawgs - we only won 3 games a year - hope we can dig our way out of this

Another point that things might be in the works is ADMcG - remember when WE had his little run in - he got suspended for a game - the latest guy got kicked off the team - they both had committed 3 things at once - maybe there is some light at the end of the tunnel

Oh well enough rambling - got any green peanuts left?

RabunDog, the following portion of you post I totally agree with.

Have always been bitter about the way that Erk left. Thing about Erk, he did not hang his head or make excuses. Moved on and proved what many of us UGA fans knew . . . should have been head coach. I have said it before, I have no feelings one way or the other about VD, except this . . . he was not all that.

RabunDog there are a lot of hurt feelings on this site and others, wish we were talking about how we are going to go to a BCS bowl or looking at the crystal. My gut feeling is that under the current command, we will never be all that so many of us want UGA football to be.

The one thing that sticks in my mind and is hard for me to stomach is the talent that comes and goes from our campus and the results are not getting better, they are getting worse.

One question I have is this . . . AJ leaves, what is Richt going to do to replace that loss next year and the year after? He does not have answers that I can see. It is certainly not showing up in his leadership this year minus AJ. He learned to coach a certain way, and I think that he is either afraid or not willing to push the button that will bring positive change to our campus.

There is a huge difference between Richt and Saban. Saban demands, and the players that attend Alabama know that he is the man. No questions. Same applies to his coaches, they understand as well.

Not quite sure where our program is headed, the sad thing is I don't think Richt does either. It will not surprise me to see him shake hands, smile and ride off into the sunset. This would be the perfect test for our new AD to show us "what he is made of", hopefully a lot.

Have three bags of peanuts left from the last half bushel I bought. Time to order more. RabunDog, enjoy your posts and threads, seem to be a man of reason.

Go Dawgs . . . . Tennessee on their way to Athens . . . . I do not like urange. . . .more than anything, averagedawg needs this win. Crossed fingers.

Buc, I just got this email from "my guy".........totally agree with him. Thought you might like to hear what the talk is.

I told you that the wheels would be off if we lost to MSU. They are definitely off now. The program is in a tailspin. I think that we are looking at 3 or 4 wins at best this year. I expect recruits to start bailing anytime now. Crowell would be a fool to come to Athens with the outlook for our program. Saturday will be a VERY ugly crowd. It was ugly in Colorado, and you’ll hear a lot of boos this weekend. I think UT will beat us, too. I hate to be so pessimistic, but I think that we are about to go through some very lean years. I will give Grantham the benefit of the doubt. Alabama’s defense was bad in their first year under Saban as well. However, the offensive coaching is terrible, and now the coaching is about to start coaching lesser talent because recruiting is going to take a hit. The program is in BIG trouble. I don’t see Richt being able to turn things around. He’ll probably fire somebody this year, but I’m not sure that’s going to help.

wlayton, appreciate your post for sure. Somehow have had this as a gut feeling for a while. You and I and others have discussed it here on the board.

Saban is light years ahead of us, don't really see anyone or any team stopping him. Man handled UF. That was not a bloody lip or nose, a genuine butt kicking.

With the current cast of characters we have on campus, this is going to be really, really bad. One bad recruiting year can set us back further than any of us know. Case in point though, we supposedly had incredibly good classes for several years, and look what that has done for the program.

Still think that Richt will resign.

As far as Coach Grantham, these are not his players, maybe the same holds true for him that held true for Coach Saban. Needs at least one recruiting class of his own. averagedawg mentioned that there was a thingy going around about Adams having some words with CTG, if that is the case, it will take more than Richt and some of the others leaving. King Adams likes publicity, especially if he is the focal point.

Buc, the energy is with the ugly orange.
I will confess. Now that I spend every weekend at my cabin in the mountains of Fannin County, all I see are Floridians and Gator fans. A more foulmouthed, rude, obnoxious bunch of people I have never seen. Well hated in Fannin County.
I understand now how tough it must be to be a Dawg in Florida.
Having said that, I still hate Tennessee.

another email from "my guy"......interesting:

I don’t know all of the details, but I have heard from numerous people that Richt will NOT be fired this year. This is for several reasons, but chief among them is the amount of money that UGA would owe him if they fired him. The #2 reason is that McGarity will not fire him in his first year. I think that all of this is correct. Richt could resign, but he won’t be fired. Now if 2011 is another bad year, I think that McGarity would do something. He would be forced to. I repeat. Richt WILL NOT be fired this year, even if they go 2-10.
