Didn't know that playing cards was one of your many talents wlayton. Might be right on target with your post sir.

I'm willing (for now) for CMR to stay as long as he replaces Bobo and gets an innovative OC on staff. What do you think about Mark Whipple at UM? You live down that way and probably hear a lot about him. I personally think he calls a great game......much variety, aggressive and fearless. Certainly lets his QB PLAY with no handcuffs on him. I've seen his play calling pick teams apart.

wlayton, I think that he is one of the very best coaches in football. If he were to leave Miami, folks would not be happy. Without saying too much here, I have listed a site below that pretty much tells the story about MW. Like those initials. Not crazy about MB initials.

Do think that when Bill Cowher comes back to coaching, Coach Whipple will be the first one to get a call.

Your suggestion as a replacement is the best that I have read anywhere.

Love the way he calls a game.......disects the D like a surgeon. The D has no idea what is coming next. Can you imagine AM playing for him.......that would be fun!!

Kent Daddy, I never said this was the first sign of adversity. I am saying that the popular trend that seems to be going around that as soon as a coach starts to have some problems, the answer to the fans(not this board, talking about the whole fan nation) is to replace the coach immediately.

Where was the adversity before last year? Yeah, we under achieved but not to the point where we didn't win 9 or 10 games. Last year. evident that there was some trouble going on with the program. I saw many threads at numerous sites calling for Richt to be gone. One terrible season and the guy still wins 8 games and a bowl. And he is on the Hot Seat. I am as competitive as anybody, and I get mad and want this to happen and that, but at the end of the day, the guys still has never had a losing season(to be continued...)

No, we have not played in a NC game under Richt. Actually, we haven't played in a NC game in my life time. We have won 2 NC's in over 100 years of football and it seems like that is what we use as our measuring stick. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see one, but...

Plus, this whole thread was just food for thought. I believe everyone has made a valid point, and it has opened my thinking to a couple of different views. I would like to see a little more about predictions for the game.

GO DAWGS. Going to keep hoping for a strong finish.

to add a prediction to this thread, and without trying to sound overly doomy/gloomy:
I predict we will lose. Fairly long road trip, hostile crowd, players and coaches lacking confidence, no offense or defense, and most importantly - playing at altitude. I lived in Colorado for a while and the altitude in Boulder is going to make a difference to our guys. The Buffs don't offer much in the way of a threat, but don't think we do either.

Again - please no happy clappers jumping on my case here - the op asked for a prediction and I gave mine with an explanation. Just my unfortunate feelings at the moment.

I guess it depends on when you started paying attention. I noticed problems in 2005. By 2006 I was suspicious of Richt, Martinez and the rest. I am not alone in that.

2008 was a disaster given the talent. 2009 was no better. And we are where we are. This failure of leadership is not recent.
