Oh yeah, I forgot to address this in my first post. What exactly is your definition of a fair-weather fan? Somebody who watches their team decline for 4-5 years, continues to pull and loudly cheer for them, continues to proudly wear their gear, and would like to see some changes made to maybe improve their team? If that is your definition, I guess I fit the bill, but it's a heck of a lot different than my opinion of what a fair weather fan is.

My sentiments exactly sd! Fairweather fans tend to show up when the team is hitting on all cylinders, undefeated and contending for chamionships. then when the going gets tough, well you know the rest. I purposely put my two boys in their GA jerseys for school today. Told them to wear it proud and hold their heads high. Told them this is what being a GA Bulldog is all about. Our team may have appeared to quit on us, but we don't dare quit on them!

Good Post DawgnLA, I feel the same way. I always wear My UGA gear with pride win or lose.

Let me rephrase my earlier comments.

1. I mean as Head Coach.
2. When I say jerk, I don't mean it that way. I just mean someone with enough saltiness that he can instill a little of that ego where the team actually thinks it can beat UF. My brother in law is next door neighbors with Kirby Smart's very good friend-actually got to meet him once; kirby Smart says Saban is a jackass to work for. Jackass-Jerk. Hmmm. What's the difference?
3. You say you don't like someone who would run up the score? Do you understand the BCS system at all? Unfortunately you HAVE to do that. Just to refresh your memory: a few years ago we were preseason #1 and after going 2-0 to start the year, we FELL in the polls. Had we thrown a couple 65-7 scores up there, we would not have. So, you may want NICE, I want SEC East titles.

You want 7-5 and being nice? Or 12-0 with a coach with an edge???

Here is an example just from the Miss State game.

1. MSU is called for a penalty.
2. Dan Mullen goes berserck to the point the refs overturn the call.
3. Mark Richt is standing there like he is in a library.

THAT will never beat a Meyer or Saban.

Sadlerdawg, I will agree that the under the circumstances, many different views and points may be made to justify certain opinions as far as the direction the program is concerned, but I personally still have confidence in CMR as CEO. I think sometimes even in a profession 10 years in (as CMR is as a head coach), an old dog can be taught new tricks. I hate to see somebody go down based on the negativity of a particular season W-L ratio with all of the transitions being made simultaneously. Not everything can be put solely on the head coach, my friend. I'm simply making a point that a HC change should not be on anybody's radar right now. We should support (as fans) the direction CMR says he's taking us, and don't be so quick to put everybody's head on a platter. Imagine another year with another new coordinator... Yeah, we should prepare to lose 5-6 a year... and then a new HC... another 5-6 a year... CMR is still the best fit for UGA at this point IMHO... Again, GO DAWGS!!!

Oh yes... all to well. As a former player, I used to look down on coaches who ran up the score on other teams who were inferior. There is no need to beat someone when they are down. With all due respect, I dont GARA how the BCS system works.
