I hate to see somebody go down based on the negativity of a particular season W-L ratio with all of the transitions being made simultaneously. Not everything can be put solely on the head coach, my friend. I'm simply making a point that a HC change should not be on anybody's radar right now. We should support (as fans) the direction CMR says he's taking us, and don't be so quick to put everybody's head on a platter.

I think this is going to be one where neither of us will convince the other. I disagree with almost all of this statment. I'm definitely not putting this on a particular W/L ratio for one season--it's been declining for the last 3. And in this business, when a HC refuses to make necessary changes, everything CAN and should be placed on him. The buck stops with him, IMO. I'm certainly not quick to put anyone's head on a platter, I've been saying it for quite a while. And many head coaches come in to a program and have success right away--no reason to think we'd lose 5-6 with a new one.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!

Major college teams go through staff transitions all of the time without letting the team go into a tailspin as the dawgs are in right now. It's not valid excuse and inaction is not acceptable.

IMO, the major problem right now is discipline (on & off field), determnination, and attitude from both CMR and players. I agree, CMR looks like he's has no emotion whatsoever.

I'm still not on the "fire CMR" wagon but I've been on the "fire Bobo" wagon for years and now the donkey is getting tired of pulling it.

Even losing it would make a huge difference right now if I saw fire and determination from our team and coaches. It's just not there and hasn't been for almost 2 years.

Two more reasons Richt should be fired:

1. This game marked the 2nd time a players has been quoted as saying that we take a couple plays off here and there. Rambo said it after SC and don't recall who said it after the MSU game. Rambo should have been benched for a game.

2. Does anyone recall the Richt/Bobo response to Murray scoring on the last play before the half against La Lafayette? They told Murray it was "OK to take a field goal in that situation." Are you kidding me? here is a young Murray who has scrambled ability, and already Richt/Bobo are telling him to take it easy and acept FG's. Sorry, been accepting to many FG's on 4th and inches on the 15 yard line too long now. here comes a kid who wants to bring it to the HOUSE and CMR is already trying to take his testicles away.

Nick Saban goes for it on 4th and inches from his own 40 against Arkansas with the SEC West probably in the balance-and CMR tells his scrambling QB it is better to go out of bounds and get the 3.

Enough.

#2.....in that situation with the clock running out, AM should have gotten rid of the ball and accepted the 3. You would have been furious if he hadn't got into the endzone and the clock ran out and we didn't get the chance for the 3 pts.

CMR was DEFINITELY correct on that percentage call to AM.

wlayton, I know what you are saying. I'm just trying to make the point that too many times Richt wants to settle for 3's.

The rest of this season, I just say have the kid roll out every play and if read 1 and read 2 are not there, keep it and run it-he is our best option right now.

Our RB's are horrible.

Wlayton, interested in hearing your thoughts on Jim harbaugh as a HC at UGA.

I hate settling for 3's as well but CMR and any other coach on the planet would agree on the call.

JH is one heck of a coach and is completely fearless and not intimidated by ANYBODY. Have to agree with another prior post that he may ultimately want to move on to the NFL. Do feel that he would be successful anywhere he goes. UGA does need a coach with a bigtime "swagger" and Harbaugh definitly has one. Can' disagree with ya on JH, actually hadn't thought about him......great idea by you imo, great coach, just may be NFL bound.

Btw......Richt has a very hefty buyout. Basically, UGA owes him for the remainder of his contract if they terminate him. He’s not going anywhere this year, and next year will have to be pretty bad for anything to happen.
