This is the type of quote that really makes me scratch my head. Came from Richt's press conference.

A possible reason for the success of opposing team’s opening drives: Mississippi State showed some formations that Georgia hadn’t seen on film, according to Richt. MSU also played some guys that Georgia weren’t sure would play because of injury

Pretty much sums up the difference in Mullen and MB/MR. There are rarely if ever any new looks to our offense. These folks do not know how to mix things up, Miss State's coach that they pulled away from UF sure does. Sorry, this is pathetic.

Just excuses.

Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfils the same function as pain in the human body. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things. ~Winston Churchill

This week the Bulldog Nation is in pain. I truly believe that CMR is filled with much of the same frustrations that we share.

This is uncharted water for CMR. Not in ten years has he had as much blow back from the fan base. Given good reason to.

He has never had to deal with such adversity in his coaching career.

This is why his comments make no or little sense. He is trying to right his world.

There are those who feel he is too nice a guy and that his faith gets in the way of him playing bad cop with the players.

I am not going to paint a rose colored picture about how the birds will sing and the sun will shine this Saturday and all will be well with our football team. Even if we do win, which is far from a given.

It is going to take more than a week to put the fear of the bite back into UGA.

Many feel that CMR does not have the metal to put us back on track.

I truly don’t have that answer; time will be the judge of how successful CMR was in fixing our problems – Or not.

Sorry but we will be “Walking the Floor Over You” for a good while to come.

Keep the axe sharp and nearby at all times.

I think we know what we have with CMR, and the thing that matters most in Athens now is whether or not that is acceptable for another year. CMR will not win a national championship or even another SEC championship. This year, he will not win a bowl because we will not play a bowl for the first time in 13 years. If nothing changes, we will have a losing season this year and, folks, it may be as bad as 1990.

I like CMR, but it's time for him to go. He's secured his place in our history, but he's lost something. He looks bored on the sidelines, like he'd rather be somewhere else, so why not let him go chase his other calling, whatever that may be. I don't want to see him rode out of town like Ray Goff, especially since CMR is a giant in comparison. However, this is football. CMR is a victim of his own success. He gave us a taste of winning and now we're crack addicts suffering withdrawals, and blaming the dealer.

Bobo is a joke. How we can be this pathetic with this talent escapes me, but it falls on CMB, and I'll be damned if I'll excuse the boss for throwing his workers under the table for having a poor plan.

I believe the OP when he said that this is what the next few years looks like. It's not about money. Our ADept can pay off CMR's buyout and not miss a beat. It's about courage. It's actually about management, but right now we're rotton from core to skin, and until somebody steps up and says enough, we WILL be the new Kentucky.

All this hurts. I think its tough being a fan in this situation because we won't give up on the team, no matter what. My attachment, however, is with the school, not the coaches, and now I'm firmly in the camp of firing and starting over.

I do not believe Richt has really lost something. It was never really there. Most of his success came from inherited players.

The stacked roster of a few years ago was a serious let down. It is time for a change.

Another good post LimeyDawg.

Think maybe some have not seen this site below with Bobby Bowden giving his two cents worth. I like BB. I also know that in the years after Richt left, BB began to have problems with the offensive side of the ball. You live on the West Coast, bet you remember the things that were going on at FSU. BB started floundering, had great athletes, but his staff was totally out of kilter and going south quick. Hiring sons will not save you, regardless of your years in service to the university. Not to mention all of the "off field activities".

Said on this site more than once, our program reminds me so much of what happened at FSU.

Before Richt started to be pulled up in the press, and hot seat talk started, Richt had a comfortable run at UGA, maybe too comfortable at this point. He is doing the identical things that BB did when his problems started. Can Richt pull it out or change course, don't think so. Too much competition in the SEC with top notch coaches, and . . . more to come.

Colorado will be very interesting. If the players are not willing to put their heads through a brick wall, will probably be the game that decides many things hanging over UGA's head.
