I understand and agree that Green is a deep threat, gamechanger, walks on water, etc. In the SEC if your team is that dependent on one player you need to stay in the locker room. Do you not think that Durham or King are deep threats? I just don't think that AM has developed the accuracy on his longer throws that we have become accustomed to in the past. I just believe that with a young quarterback you have to work on higher percentage tosses and staying away from the gimics.

UGA's top four receivers have had 30 catches through Saturday and the TE's have had 5.

Durham is not a deep threat in the manner he draws anything other than man coverage. King has proven inconsistent so he is disregarded largely until he make people worry about him.

Every team in the SEC is that dependent on one player. FOr some it is a QB. FOr others it is a WR. Alabama may be the lone exception with the two tailbacks, but they have not played anyone yet so who knows.

Without a homerun hitting WR defenses just crowd the line and take everything else away. This is a simple football principle and I am concerned people on this board seem unaware of it.

Really KD?? ;) ;)

I know it is hard to believe............

Green is a once in a decade type WR. He is todays Randy Moss or Lynn Swann. I remember reading dumb as a stump Bradshaw talking about throwing to Swann. He did not care if he was covered. He just threw it and Swann made a play.

The same thing with Moss. When he was in college it was unfair. When he first enter the NFL it was still nearly unfair. Any QB could just throw the ball in his area and he caught it.

That type of player completely alters what a defense can do.

No reason for concern, KD. Speaking for myself, and some others on the board may be trying to convey the same message but it's just getting lost in translation, is this--I agree, Green is a game changer and difference maker ( or is that Heart breaker and life taker, but I digress) and causes defenses to change their philosophy. I get that, and I agree with you. My point, and maybe some of the others, is concern that we have NOBODY else that can step up and become somewhat of a difference maker. We've recruited some terrific wideouts out of high school, they need to man up. It is shameful to me that this team is so much worse without AJ playing. That's where our disagreement comes in-- I don't disagree with your assessment, I just can't believe that our coaches can't rectify the situation to even a manageable degree.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!

I too am perplexed why Marlon Brown or King have not stepped in and excelled. I do think the young QB has played a role. S. Carolina had success stacking the line so everyone will do it until Green or someone makes them pay.

They were as highly recruited or nearly as highly recruited as Green.

Maybe it comes down to heart, focus and work ethic? I know here in Jacksonville they draft Matt Jones. This dude ran a 4.3 40 at 6' 5" tall. He was every bit as gifted athletically as Randy Moss or Jerry Rice or whoever. But nothing came of his career because the unmeasurable part between his ears just was not there.

There is just that x factor that people like Jordan and Montana had. Green has some of that. He steps on the football field and everyone knows where he is. I do not think it is a coachable thing unfortunately.

KD, I to understand where you are coming from, but me like some of the others do not believe this is a one man team. I get what you are saying about double coverage ect, but man what are we going to do next year and the next. Are you saying we will not win without AJ. I like some of the others wish AJ would have been kicked off the team, then lets see where we go from there. He is selfish and I don't want him coming back and us starting to win and him get the big head and say see you can't win without me.

No I am not saying we will not win without AJ Green. I am saying that given the parameters of THIS team right now it is far harder to win without AJ Green.

Each years team is different. Next year could bring a stud RB from Columbus or some other place that dictates what defenses do and then our WRs look great. There are many variables.

This is not a one man team, but like any other team in America if you remove the very best player the team will struggle to over come. There are hundreds of teams in college football and the talent gets spread more thinly each year. There are very few (actually just Green) AJ Green type players in the country.
