sorry if i am repeating a topic already brough up. i saw the game against arkansas on tv, one of the rare times uga is on tv here in new jersey *the land of knowshon moreno).

1) what did people think of the comments made by one of the commnetators (chris spillman) after murray was sacked on UGA's last possession in the game....saying that the UGA offensive coordinator should have hade one option open for murray to dump the ball off to instead of sending all the recievers on the same basic 20-yard pattern.

2) i was surprised to see all the spaced opening up in the stands, especially in the upper deck.

i think its going to be a lomg season in athens :-(

Totally agree with Spillman....ridiculous we didn't have a 5-6 yard pass play drawn up....stupid. Bobo did the same thing in the 1st half on a 3rd and 2!!!!!!!!!.......threw it LONG.......again, stupid!!!!!

Without a homerun hitting WR defenses just crowd the line and take everything else away. This is a simple football principle and I am concerned people on this board seem unaware of it.[/quote]

That's a little pithy considering some of us never played football.

I never played football either. I still read and understand how defenses work. I have small kids so from 10 PM on I have time to read and learn. Pithy was not my intention. I was more directly making fun of one dude.

Wow Kentdaddy,

with your football acumen your surely at the top of McGarity's list should he decide to let Richt go. I did play football, on the defensive side, coached under a gentleman that won a national championship on the '81 Clemson Team.

However, that doesn't make me an authority on the subject. Much like your not. If what you are saying is correct UGA would have been held scoreless on Saturday. Would not come back to tie the game up in the fourth quarter and been in a position to win but for the ability to convert a 3rd and 4 when it mattered most.

Hopefully the O line will get tuned up before Starkeville to establish a better running game and give AM a little more time in those third down situations...

I make no apologies for being well read and intelligent.

I am certain I can run a defense better than Willie Martinez. It seems you did not study well or are not up to date.
