Let me know if I'm way out in right field here. I think CMR would make a fine AD for Georgia. I just don't think his heart is in it anymore to be coach. Nothing against the man, because he is a good man. He's done a lot for us in the past. Recent years, he's just given us ulcers.

flyindawg, read this and my mind went back to the days of Coach Bowden. Wonderful, God fearing man, built FSU, no doubt. Times changed, Coach Bowden hired his son and the down fall was complete. The game really passed Coach B by, and the inmates took over the prison. Afraid that Coach Richt is showing some of the same tendencies, remarkably close to the mistakes made by Coach Bowden.

When Coach Richt was the offensive coordinator at FSU, he was in the perfect job, suited him to a tee. When approached by UGA to become head coach, he was within a couple of words turning the job down. Early success here, know that he has won a lot more than he has lost. It is the games that he comes up short that show some of his short comings.

flyindawg, you are not out in right field as far as I am concerned. However, we have a new AD and he will make a difference in Athens. I would like to see Coach Richt take over the play calling again . . . . totally. That is his specialty, not defense, special teams or another part of the team. He is an offensive specialist. Would also like to know how many calls he actually made against South Carolina. If he was in agreement with the call to run into the wall of defensive players on a third and two . . . . . might have to rethink what I just said about Coach.

Am I going to set my sights on 2011 and say that will be the year . . . . nope, what happened to the classes of top recruits we had in Athens that are still on this team. . .

2011 will NOT be our year either if Bozo is still allowed to call plays, period, no room for negotiation there.
If they happen to address that mistake, it will still not be our year if they don't toughen these players up. They are soft, and give up too easily.
If they happen to fix that, it still will not be our year if they don't teach the D how to tackle consistently, and to hurt people. I am not advocating injuring people, but opposing players bells have to be rung to make them not want the ball again. There is a difference between hurting people and injuring people.
If all that happens and we can get a halfway decent running back that can give us an entire game, and AM doesn't get too frustrated with Bozo's idiotic play calling this year and transfer, 2011 might be our year.

sadlerdawg, Arkansas comes to Athens and beats us, will make the noise made about losing to South Carolina almost muted sound.

You are so right, again year after year, Bobo is not a plus for this team. AM is not the problem, he is the solution. Bobo does not understand offensive game planning. Bobo played for the Dawgs, if he wants to really help UGA football, step down, don't wait for the alumni and almost every Dawg in the nation to call for your head. Don't want to go through another WM situation again. Get it right Coach Richt and move on.

Buc, I've tried to give CMR a pass on this, and give him the benefit of the doubt, but as flyindawg said, he IS the captain of this ship. If he continues to allow these inept morons like MB (and WM for far too long) to be his coordinators because they are his friends, he's going to end up swabbing the deck as opposed to being the captain.

Agree with you guys

Defense
Instead of moving up the ladder a step or 2 - they fell off the ladder - tackling was terrible

It is going to be interesting to see how much power CTG has - If he is going to hold to his guns about when he said that the best players will be playing - I expect to see some changes in the D line up till he gets best of what's there to work with - but like someone on here said and I had not thought about is - CTG is pretty much having to work with what he was dealt - maybe a bunch of WM's wossies - so we knew this might not change over night - bama did not do too good the first year changing over the defense to a 3-4 with new coaches

Speaking of wossies - watched the Ark game last night - was not impressed with their qb - hope CTG gets a copy of that game - the La-monroe defense gave him a pretty hard time

Offense
They have to take the training wheels off of AM - he will be just fine - one of the few bright spots about the game - if he gets hurt well then you'll just have to deal with it - let him be who he is - CMR & CMB have got to let him go - stop worrying about what might happen - besides I think he's a lot tougher than they think he is - they might be scared but I don't think he is

The running game sucks - no other way to put it - several post on here talk about the play calling which I think is more of the problem than the players

CMR
Agree pretty much with what's been said - I think he is a GREAT man and has probably helped some of these young men turn their lives around - BUT we are not a reform school (although some may disagree with that) - this is big business - people will not continue to pay for mediocre performances

So it was not a good day for the dogs but at least we did not loose to james Madison or wossie Kansas - was not a good day for the acc - will be interesting to see how far they fall

Besides the JM victory over VT - was surprised at how Okla man handled FSU
