Let me know if I'm way out in right field here. I think CMR would make a fine AD for Georgia. I just don't think his heart is in it anymore to be coach. Nothing against the man, because he is a good man. He's done a lot for us in the past. Recent years, he's just given us ulcers.
flyindawg, read this and my mind went back to the days of Coach Bowden. Wonderful, God fearing man, built FSU, no doubt. Times changed, Coach Bowden hired his son and the down fall was complete. The game really passed Coach B by, and the inmates took over the prison. Afraid that Coach Richt is showing some of the same tendencies, remarkably close to the mistakes made by Coach Bowden.
When Coach Richt was the offensive coordinator at FSU, he was in the perfect job, suited him to a tee. When approached by UGA to become head coach, he was within a couple of words turning the job down. Early success here, know that he has won a lot more than he has lost. It is the games that he comes up short that show some of his short comings.
flyindawg, you are not out in right field as far as I am concerned. However, we have a new AD and he will make a difference in Athens. I would like to see Coach Richt take over the play calling again . . . . totally. That is his specialty, not defense, special teams or another part of the team. He is an offensive specialist. Would also like to know how many calls he actually made against South Carolina. If he was in agreement with the call to run into the wall of defensive players on a third and two . . . . . might have to rethink what I just said about Coach.
Am I going to set my sights on 2011 and say that will be the year . . . . nope, what happened to the classes of top recruits we had in Athens that are still on this team. . .
