And the defense did not play as bad as all the crying here would suggest. I saw a few plays that made me scratch my head and I saw a lot of plays where a damn fine running back just did not agree to get tackled.

It would appear that you and I have a difference of opinion as to what constitutes "crying", as well as what constitutes our defense's acceptable level of performance.

Well I was not singling out you, but there are posts and threads here that sound like the ladies when the season of Army Wives ends.

The facts are this.

Lattimore averaged 4.9 yards per carry on 37 carries. S. Carolina as a whole averaged 3.6. Those are not horrible numbers. I give Lattimore credit where it is due. He is a good back who is hard to tackle.

Having fought and sparred many different types of people I know some folks (like Lattimore and Moreno) are just harder to get ahold of and others like King and Ealey do not seem to be. Defense was not our problem. The team only scored 6 points. That was the problem.

That defensive showing was considerable progress from last year and I expect more progress as the year unfolds.

KD,I definitely understand what you are saying that Lattimore is a hard back to bring down. Had our D missed tackles on him because they wrapped him up and still couldn't bring him down, I would not have a leg to stand on. However, too many times, I saw our D attempt to arm tackle him, dive at his ankles, or just flat out miss when he didn't even make a cut. BASICS!!!!! Not to mention, the D missed tackles on other players as well, due to the same poor techniques. Unacceptable, IMO.
And you will get zero argument from me that the O was the problem. Not the players, but the play calling. AM did amazing, not because of Bozo's inept play calling, but in spite of it.
