KD,I definitely understand what you are saying that Lattimore is a hard back to bring down. Had our D missed tackles on him because they wrapped him up and still couldn't bring him down, I would not have a leg to stand on. However, too many times, I saw our D attempt to arm tackle him, dive at his ankles, or just flat out miss when he didn't even make a cut. BASICS!!!!! Not to mention, the D missed tackles on other players as well, due to the same poor techniques. Unacceptable, IMO.
And you will get zero argument from me that the O was the problem. Not the players, but the play calling. AM did amazing, not because of Bozo's inept play calling, but in spite of it.
The problem with that is the D line got manhandled and all they had was arms to tackle with. Their O line pushed the front 3 around. I am not surprised because the shift to 3-4 will require some different talent from the 4-3 and we may not be there yet.
That nose guard is key. If he is not eating the buffet every day and squatting 600 or more pounds the 3-4 might have trouble.
I saw the arm tackling you were referring to but it appear the be the result of getting whooped at the point of contact and not coaching. We need different types of lineman now. There are no Strouds and Seymours in that group.

Agreed, flyin. I saw alot of contact in the backfield by the D, followed by poor tackling attempts, then big gains. And not only Lattimore--Garcia and others as well.
This week should and better be more productive than our Columbia trip.
RM is a tall QB, rifle arm. He however looks like a stork when trying to escape a pass rush. Our defense is going to know exactly where RM is going to set up. Makes it a lot easier for the rush guys to locate him, whether a 3 step or 5 step drop. Just the opposite for our QB, that is if Coach Richt lives up to his post game comment about taking the harness off.
If we can get our DB's tight on their receivers on the line of scrimmage, RM will get hammered many times Saturday. If he is forced into a five step delivery should work big time in our favor. Wrap 'em up D. Loss to Arkansas would not be good.

up to date on the SEC scores. Imagine my shame, being in Huntsville AL, announcing that AL and Auburn came back to win and that my beloved Dawgs got shellacked. I still wore my UGA hat, I am not a fair weather fan, but once again I was embarrassed. From what I have read in your posts it was the same story, lack of effort, lack of discipline and lack of emotion.
