yankeedawg1, good information, as always. Really enjoy your "Athens" posts. Look forward to them.
One thing that really has me on this "high" is what you mentioned . . . . new coaches and players coming together. After watching a game or two under this "new regime" all of us are going to have a better handle on just what we have.
South Carolina is going to be a war. Don't think that there will be a harder hitting game all year. This is when the "new regime on defense" will let it all hang out. Probably will need to let it "all hang out".
Coach Grantham searching really hard for backup relief, knows it will be needed in Columbia. Appears to me that he has spent a large amount of time, positioning and re-positioning his forward wall. These guys will get a good look at a back that is supposed to be big time. Would hate to have a couple of our linebackers running at full speed coming at me if I am toting the rock.
I am not
totally looking past our first game, however . . . . we should be up to the task. Hoping that it will be the kind of game that we don't have to "show" some things that will be used in Columbia. Never forget SS and Athens . . . . never.
Glad to hear that Coach Richt is walking with his shoulders high. It used to bother me a bit when some previous coaches were "poor mouthing" about the upcoming game. If you have a good or great team, say it. Don't think this group of coaches will let the "big heads" develop. I think that this is more than a solid team, we will see.
Think your quote of CTG's reasoning says it best . . .
CTG keeps after the "D" you are going to have to step it up, don't practice and play like your a 8 & 5 team...Love It
Thank goodness for change, eh sadlerdawg . . . .
