Saturday's Game and Selected Carriers

14 years 6 months ago #30240 by Buc
Living in Florida, don't know if this will help you folks out or not. Good channel listings for the game Saturday. Hope this serves some purpose. I am in the Orlando/Melbourne area, makes me very happy. TV room loaded with UGA "fixins'" . . . .

Watch the game, then we are having friends over for a "Frogmore Boil". Shrimp, crab, sausage, new potatoes, Vidalia Onions, okra, broccoli, whole fresh garlic, fresh corn on the cob in a bath dominated by "Old Bay". Dessert, boiled green peanuts from Vidalia, Georgia. Yep, boiling the "green peanuts" myself. Go Dawgs!

That food your talkin bout sounds good. Ive never had green peanuts. We should all post our favorite tailgate recepies. I love to grill at our tailgates mostly chicken and burgers. But Ive been known to do some Beer butt chickens or turkeys also. Since its just myself and the wife this weekend in Athens, We will end up at The grill and the Blind Pig Im sure. GO DAWGSSSS!!!!

OldSouthDawg (OSD) Folks that I grew up with call Boiled Green Peanuts "Southern Caviar". I am jealous that I cannot be in Athens with folks like you. If you have never had a "Frogmore Boil" and enjoy having a group around, it is the easiest and quickest meal ever. On top of that, it is delicious.

Know that you will enjoy watching the "new edition" of the Dawgs between the hedges, I will certainly enjoy watching them on the tube. I am particularly interested in watching the body behavior of CTG.

Listened to Coach Richt today, reading between the lines, CMR knows that he has a solid football team. A team that no one on our schedule is looking forward to facing. CMR talked a lot about the QB and not making mistakes at that position. Said it before and will say it again, AM will be loved by many when this season is over. If I am wrong, willing to take the flack.

Go Dawgs!! :woohoo:

Hey Buc - GREEN boiled peanuts (southern caviar) and Frogmore boil (similar to Low Country boil) and Beverage of choose - the feast of kings - best and easiest meal to fix for a big crowd who is watching them dawgs put a hurtin on somebody - good friends / good food / dawg victory - does not get any better than that

OSD - you don't know what you've missed - but you have to watch out at these boiled peanut places - a lot of them used dried peanuts - not too good - got to be GREEN - just put up 10 gallons in the freezer last week

Yeah Buc - I'm going to be looking at this defense and watching CTG's body language also - If he greets a D player who just made a big play with a head butt - I'm gonna think - them junkyard dawgs are BACK & ole ERK has been reincarnated

GO DAWGS - show NO mercy

RabunDog, I know you are for real. When you say that you put 10 gallons of boiled peanuts in the freezer . . . . only a TRUE BOILED PEANUT PERSON would know to do that. I take the frozen peanuts from the freezer to the microwave and put a quick burn on them. Can't beat that South Georgia Caviar.

Below is a site that I purchase my peanuts. Their green 2010 peanuts are in. Bought a half bushel. By the way, the Hardy Farm is owned and operated by Georgia Alumni. Huge UGA football folks. Probably why the peanuts are so good. Yes green makes a difference RabunDog. If I have broken a rule by posting the link, apologize. If link is not permissable, just dial up hardy farms peanuts.
