Need help from my Dawg Family....

I lived in Athens for 15 years, and Jefferson for one year. I'd say, for the money, Helen is nice, or the general area. Agree with the Gainesville thing; that city sucks (plus, it's named Gainesville and no self-respecting Dawg would stay there.) Dahlonega is nice, been there several times, very mountainous, beautiful and good people.

You are talking about Athens.

Great schools since a lot of UGA teachers settle there after college.

The mountains are about 45 minutes away. Major lakes in about every direction.

Good arts, music and so on.

Fast road to Atlanta in case you need it to get to the airport.

Walk to the games.

I am sure there is more but think on that for a while.

She is from southern California so she is unfamiliar with college football.

Hey Kentdaddy, I dont know if you know about Canton GA, but it is a good area close to mtns and yet near alot of things going on, also you might look at Kennesaw GA, very gun friendly and has good schools and near mtns and also cartersville or Dalton GA. Anyway Go DAWGS!

I am familiar with Canton and my brother lives in Kennesaw. I want further out away from the crime and riff raff of Atlanta.

Dalton and areas up there are nice. We will be taking a touring road trip this summer.
