Need help from my Dawg Family.... was created by kentdaddy
The family and I are looking to leave the land of heathens and sinners that is NE Florida and settle some place in North Georgia where my children will receive the proper red and black influences.
My problem is I have lived here so long I am generally unfamiliar with much of North Georgia now.
Here is what I am looking for.
1. Of course a strong Red and Black influence. An active fan club chapter would be a bonus.
2. Out in the country but not totally redneck.
3. Near some type of national forest or something with out door manly sports like hiking, climbing etc.
4. Fairly conservative but not overly religious. Gun friendly.
5. Need some elevation.
6. Not too close to gatorfaninga because his sister and I are simply drawn together by some intergalactic fever of love. I must maintain some separation for both our sakes.
7. Not too expensive. I do want some land.
I liked the look of Blue Ridge. Ellijay looks nice. My mother used to live right up the road from Clayton but it did not look like much was going on there.
If this thread is not sufficiently on topic then please remove it.
I could think of no better group to ask.

Me and my lady went to Ellijay about a month ago and stayed in a cabin up there. Very nice kinda rustic place. I mean there is a cow pasture in the middle of the city. Overall people were nice and it was in the mountains. I like Dawsonville ok its not but maybe an hour from Ellijay. Anywhere up there would be nice. I personally would stay away from Gainsville had some friends that lived there and hated that place.

I've lived in the Braselton / Jefferson area all of my life, it's a really nice; somewhat rural area. The closest national forest is Fort Yargo..doesn't really have hiking, but camping is fun and I can show you were to go fishing if you move around here. My grandparents live in Toccoa, and love it in the mountains near Lake Hartwell.

This is a 2 year plan. I am going back to school to finish my degree and then upon completion I will be moving to some elevation.
Athens would be nice, but access to outdoor things I like is a bit limited. I need mountains to climb, curvy roads storm etc. I want my girls to be familiar with camping, shooting and general non-mall related skills.
And most importantly I want them to be familiar with the works of Munson, Walker and Dooley as they pertain to living a righteous life.
