Yep.

Latest email from my source confirms what you just said AllDawgs5:

The Rivals guy thinks that they are just ironing out some details. Grantham also doesn’t want to be a distraction to the Cowboys during the playoff run. The Rivals guy put the chances of Grantham being hired at over 80% and said an announcement could come at any time. Richt did talk to Van Gorder, but Grantham is the man he wants to hire.

Also heard NFL playoff talk on the sports radio this morning and all they could talk about was how dominant Dallas' front seven are playing and how great their D is.......yep, Buc, Grantham is THE guy imo.:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: (3 for ya)

Oh, one more thing.....Not that it means that much, but I found out that Grantham has a house on Lake Oconee. He could commute in from there if he wanted. Grasping at anything.

Coach Grantham has proven that he can \"catch on\" with an NFL team. If he does come to Athens, tells me that he will be here for a while. Stabilize the defensive side of the ball, makes a huge difference in UGA football. Beginning to get my \"Erk\" feelings back.

wlayton, you are so right about AM. Like many rosters, coaches tend to move height and weight up a notch or two. That is how it was done in the 50's, some things never change. AM is mobile and fearless, smart, good arm, and quite frankly I like a QB that can roll right or left and produce results. Scramble factor tends to help the offensive linemen, also makes those pass rushing DE's stay a little closer to home.

Looking like Muschamp is very interested in UT. If he chooses to take the job at UT it will add another incredible defensive minded coach to the SEC. Muschamp, Smart, Grantham . . . . SEC gets a little tougher. Great conference.

:woohoo: :woohoo: back at you. :)

Buc...geez, it sure would feel really weird playing UT with Muschamp at the helm, wouldn't it? I personally hope he doesn't take the job. Would hate to play AGAINST a tried and true DAWG.

wlayton this is going to be a tough job to pass up. Muschamp has to know that Mack Brown is not going anywhere for some time to come, think his age is 59. Would hate to have Muschamp to play against every year, kind of have this gut feeling that he will accept the job. Tennessee needs a head coach as badly as we need a defensive coordinator (Grantham).

Maybe not--from espn.com:

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Will Muschamp, Texas' defensive coordinator and head coach-in-waiting, has turned down a lucrative offer to be Tennessee's new coach, sources close to the situation told ESPN.com.

Tennessee athletics director Mike Hamilton continues to work toward having a coach in place by this weekend, and one of the candidates the Vols are zeroing in on now is Duke coach David Cutcliffe, who is a former Tennessee offensive coordinator.

Sources told ESPN.com that Cutcliffe has talked with Tennessee officials, although he's not the only candidate the Vols are considering.

Air Force's Troy Calhoun and Louisiana Tech's Derek Dooley are two other coaches on Tennessee's list, while the Vols might also be interested in talking to Clemson defensive coordinator Kevin Steele.

Tennessee made a hard push for Muschamp and made it clear that money wasn't an issue. But in the end, Muschamp felt like it was best for him to stay at Texas, where he's already contractually in line to replace Mack Brown when Brown retires.

\"I'm happy at Texas and plan to be here for a long time,\" Muschamp said in a statement issued through a school spokesperson Wednesday night.

At the time, Muschamp did not rule out the possibility of leaving Austin for Knoxville, but sources told ESPN.com on Thursday that the Vols had indeed turned their attention away from Muschamp and were focusing on other candidates. Lane Kiffin left Tennessee to take the USC job on Tuesday after only one season in Knoxville.

With the recruiting period going live again on Sunday, the Vols are working feverishly to have a new coach in place by then.

Kippy Brown, in his third different stint at Tennessee, has been named the Vols' interim head coach. Brown on Wednesday said he's been told that he will also be considered for the permanent head coaching job.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!
