Thanks for the kind words Buc but I believe all will agree that you are the calm voice of reason that helps keep us all in check. Very well read and always think things through. :woohoo: :woohoo:

I emailed my guy and he said......There was a rumor out there about that yesterday. However, I have gotten the sense that Van Gorder is a backup plan at this point.

Hard to know what is going on these days AllDawgs5. Last thing I saw concerning Van Gorder was the following link from the AJC.

www.ajc.com/sports/atlanta-falcons/vango...ested-in-224723.html

Still concerned about the time involvement with no DC. However, this could work in our favor all things considered. If for instance Coach Grantham comes from the Cowboys to UGA, that in my opinion could weigh heavily on some of the young men that are declared and those that are yet to declare. Many of these young guys want that upper hand when it comes to the next level. If Coach Richt is waiting for Coach Grantham to fulfill his duties, then comes to UGA, I am fine with CMR.

Just me speaking, I believe having a successful coach, from a successful Cowboy defense could change a couple of minds. Coach Grantham is the defensive line coach with the Cowboys and they are pretty dang awesome so far this year.

My bubble could burst also, hoping we get Coach Grantham. If we don't, then we don't. As wlayton has suggested, looks like the wave of the future, pro coaches moving back to the college ranks. For sure the money is there, not like before when these assistants were scratching for their money.

The game is huge, internet, tv, radio, print, all media are virtually consumed with sports and especially college/pro football.

An example of the above paragraph . . . . AllDawgs5, you and I are talking about our next hire. Not so long ago you and I would not be doing this. Thanks to the internet, we can explore different takes on what should and should not be done with our Dawgs. Our \"family\" has exploded in size, much as the game has. :woohoo:

College Football, particularly SEC Football, is bigger than the NFL now.

I heard something like that recently but can't remember where. I believe they said it was bigger than all the other college conferences.

averagedawg, could not agree more. I have found myself the last couple of years pulling away from the NFL more and more.

average one thing that really bothers me is this, concerning the NFL. People my age watched and supported the league when they were playing for scratch and building a money maker.

Now some of these folks that built the \"League\" (players) can't walk, die young and for the most part it goes unnoticed. NFL holds millions and probably billions of dollars and shamefully show no respect to \"those\" that have filled their coffers. Shame, shame on the NFL for the treatment of these folks.

The NFL is a MEDIA GIANT, shameful how they can manipulate \"us\" and continue with their billion dollar stadium building. If memory serves me correctly, Atlanta/Fulton County Stadium was built for 11 million dollars, maybe it was 16 million. Yes, I know that was a long time ago, times have changed . . . . but, if you would listen to me . . . . . HELPING THE FOLKS THAT BUILT THIS LEAGUE HAS NOT HAPPENED. Instead, the \"League\" plays the \"Wall Street Game.\" Take the money from the fans and give these huge contracts to first round draft choices, right, the ones that have yet to play a single snap in the \"League.\"

Sorry, will stop average, this could go on for days. Last statement, looks like college football is slowly but surely heading in the same direction. When is the last time the Alumni Association asked you for money?

Go Dawgs!!
