Agree with you ugaa. Watching Coach Foster working the players and his fire in the belly on the sidelines reminded me of Erk. Brought back many memories.

As long as Coach Beamer is there, Coach Foster will be also.

Makes me wonder about some of the younger coaches out there that have not been afforded the opportunity to move up in the ranks. Brings to mind coaches like Smart and Muschamp to name a couple. At some point, there has to be a changing of the guard. Example . . . . Coach Richt leaving FSU as a coordinator and becoming head coach at UGA.

Stick a fork in our DC search... We will end up with a LB coach from the NFL or something of that standard!! I think CMR has fumbled this way again boys! I do beleave a LB coach from the NFL is better than Willie but it's not going to be a big name like we hoped.. Just my 2 cents.. Hopefully this won't hurt our recruiting but it will and with big reprecussions..I'm so disappointed how this has played out and with signing day around the corner I hope we hold on to what we have because i don't expect to get anymore Defensive players.. uuurrrrggghhhh.

Muschamp has been afforded the opportunity to move up in the ranks...he's the contracted coach-in-waiting when Mack Brown retires at Texas. Meaning when Mack Brown retires, Will Muschamp will coach Texas. Kirby probably gets the same deal if a) 'Bama wins on Thursday and b) no one else hires him immediately after 'Bama wins on Thursday.

golferdawg do not get discouraged. I think it was wlayton who stated that his contact said it would happen right after new year. I as well as others jumped on this and ran with it. CMR has gone after big names and hasn't named a DC yet. We have come this far why not give the man the benefit of the doubt. Big names are good if you get the right man. If he only hangs around for two years and moves on to be a HC then he really doesn't help us much. CMR will get this hire right even if the new man doesn't have a marquee name. We will be fine.

Yes, my contact didn't have privy info like he usually does and was only repeating what an \"outsider\" commented that the DC had 10+ years, ranked D's consistently 3rd and would announce right after the 1st. Guess we all know now that is was Chavis he(the outsider and was almost right) was making reference to. Talked again to my contact Thursday and he is speculating based on what he has heard that it may be another week (posted this on another thread) because he feels it may be Todd Grantham of the Dallas Cowboys and they are in the playoffs(may take a while, pull for Dallas' opponent). I'm hoping it will be a NFL guy myself, believe they have \"seen it all\", know how to scheme and definitely thrive on discipline in the NFL.

Side note about the NFL guys.......my contact told me he had been talking with someone in the NFL and the guy said that all DC's do in the NFL is watch film and constantly SCHEME. Every detail, every style, every tendency is schemed for hours in preparation for that game. They work endless hours coming up with a scheme to SHUT DOWN an offense......NOT bend but not break.

Yep.....I'm hoping for a NFL guy with experience.

I wasn't knocking your contact. It sounds to me like he knew what he was talking about. He had no way of knowing that LSU would step up and offer the same if not more. Like I said earlier these guys love CMR. He is getting them more money. Our next DC will be named soon and we will be alright, after all WM is gone.
